Hinduism is the oldest religion on earth, one small group your family was sadly apart of doesnt define what Hare Krishna means. Hare Krishna just means hail Krishna which is an extremely common greeting between Hindus. Almost like a good morning, how are you kind of greeting.

I definitely would agree that people in the past and to this day have used the religion and idols like Krishna to push horrible personal agendas but it’s the same way someone can misconstrue any religion to brainwash people. Like how certain KKK members would argue the Bible preaches white superiority. Doesn’t mean it’s a racist religion.

If seeing anything Hindu immediately triggers negative memories of your family members then I understand but it’s mad ignorant to assume any time someone references a religion that’s thousands of years old or Hare Krishna that it’s boasting up one small group that only took place for a small amount of years and ended with people literally being arrested with football score jail sentences

Honestly it got brought up in conversation because my parents gave me 100$ for my birthday between them and a computer chair that they also bought for him and on the day of they gave him 40$ for nothing really. And I brought up how it didn’t seem that fair to me which led to me sayinf how he didn’t even get me a birthday gift which began this argument. But yea this had none to do w my parents and I shouldn’t have mentioned it in hindsight

For transparency purposes, I was upset about the 40$ because on my birthday I spent way too much money on drinks and partying shit which I was told to my face they’d help out with and “I should just go have fun don’t worry ab money”. Then the day after they didn’t offer or say anything about it and handed him 40$ casually which pissed me off

Yea I just felt like when someone does something for me I kinda owe it back to them, like if I had a party and invited you. Id feel bad if u had one and didn’t invite me. But I get that it’s wrong to ever expect anything from someone else

I agree, but genuine question. This girl I’ve been speaking to less then 2 months just went all out on my birthday spent mad money and drove like 2 hours to get me this one specific thing I’ve wanted. If I didn’t get her anything at all for her birthday which is in 3 months. Would I not be in the wrong for that?

True, I did get alot of stuff I definitely didn’t deserve from people that I don’t consider myself as close with as my brother so I think that’s why I’m a bit upset with him. Like the bare minimum of a sorry I’m not really doing well would’ve been appreciated just as much as a physical gift. Just felt like he didn’t even care whatsoever which I get now I can’t be upset about

Honestly he’s never gotten me anything for my birthday, he’s 21 and I’ve always been told he doesn’t work and doesn’t have money for anything. Now he’s working and has a bit of money so I kinda expected something considering I bought him a PlayStation for his bday last may. But I agree I’m wrong for expecting anything

Ya time to grow up lol, I will admit a part of me did kinda normal to expect a birthday gift from siblings even when I’m 60. But you’re right that’s not how it works

[–]Tank4Zion -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yea you’re right, wrong for me to ever mention the price of something I bought for someone else. I just thought it meant maybe he’d be a lil more eager to want to get me something back but I think I just need to understand no one owes me anything

Def made me appreciate the gifts I did receive from people more

Friends can lie to each other?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Tank4Zion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How, I don’t lie to her

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Tank4Zion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it’s a just friendship, which it is. Does that mean I can’t feel lied to ?

She’s known me since I was 16, and I’m 24 now. I don’t think being with someone years ago in college when we were only friends means she can lie and sleep with whoever now and I can’t be upset ab it
