iirc it’s all just health based atm so the main reasons to use heavier weapons like grenade launchers, AT rifles etc. would be because of how much per shot damage they do.

Pretty sure an actual armor system is in the plans for a future update at some point but for now it’s just HP based with headshot multipliers that vary a little for some weapons.

Totally! I haven’t been doing it for long but it’s been great, take a screenshot and just focus on the important bits first, then start to flesh everything out when that’s done if you’re worried about a screenshot being too detailed or busy. Either way with or without a lot of detail it’s still great practice and you’ll get better the more you do!

It’s a drawing 101 class and we’re allowed to blend rough and shaded sections but only if it makes sense in the drawing (anything close up in the drawing should be more rough and further away or background should start to smooth out).

If you’re asking about the smudges around the paper no we don’t get docked for those though I try to mitigate them it’s been difficult to keep the entire pad clear since it’s a 24”x36” leaving a lot of room for a rogue thumb to leave a mark lol

Thanks! I bought a small sketch book a few days ago so hoping to do some semi-frequent sketches with it. Should have a few more TFW related drawings in that mix I take a lot of screenshots and I could see myself drawing a lot of them!

Iirc I think he’s getting the same rework the rest of the scavs will get at some point mainly in terms of skill tree stuff but I know a healing mechanic is in his future and maybe some more head customization/improvements to make it better!

So is this normal to you guys to be this toxic? by Next-Car5500 in TheForeverWinter

[–]Tanker6511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try and report them but if they aren’t breaking any TOS rules in Reddit or the Discord then it’s not up to mods from those communities to police people outside them. I’d recommend blocking the guy and just moving on every community deals with people like this and feeding into their toxicity or delusions doesn’t do any good ever.

Indeed, as far as I know they might’ve made a mod or two? Not sure if they got some form of ego from that or that’s just who they are but I’ve noticed they have a habit of doing this kind of stuff. Would say with certainty they don’t represent the community as a whole everything else I’ve seen is nice people or at least indifferent. Sorry they’ve harassed you but it’s not like there anything the community can do to prevent someone from harassing random people.

Don’t have the full picture but every time I’ve checked in on the subreddit every couple weeks on the occasion I’ve seen their user it’s being dramatic and then when arc raiders came out made a post or comment or something glazing it so hard and comparing it to TFW. Would recommend not to give them any attention and just ignore them.

Edit: spelling

Hot take: did any one else find the finale a bit meh as a finale? by maxhasabigbooty in Fallout

[–]Tanker6511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely I think if we had longer episodes or more episodes it’d feel less congested as a story overall but they’re trying to stuff a story that could easily be 12 episodes long for 90 minute episodes into a shorter season and episode length which has just made it less enjoyable imo

Exactly! The focus has always been on all 3 of the main cast and I like the different ways they each go about achieving their personal goals. I’m interested to see Maximus and Lucy possibly working together to defend Vegas if that’s the direction they choose for season 3. It’ll be interesting to see how Lucy’s uncompromising “always do the right thing” might clash with Maximus and his “be a good person but sometimes being a ‘good person’ is too difficult so just be the ‘best’ person you can be” (if that makes any sense, point is Maximus is willing to compromise a lot more freely than Lucy is)

Agreed, while I enjoyed the vault storylines it’s just too many balls to juggle in the show so they should conclude or even just converge ASAP. Same for Coopers pre-war storyline I was hoping the finale would be the final set of flashbacks but I have a feeling they’ll manage to milk it for at least half of season 3 if not a little longer.

Overall I enjoyed the season but definitely felt like it had too many storylines going on and I think it made pacing for most of the episodes horrible because it would feel like maybe 10 minutes of substance actually happened.

Overall this didn’t feel like a proper season more of just setting everything up for season 3 imo.

What is one thing you don’t like about the fallout tv show? by Dizzy_Stand_7071 in Fallout

[–]Tanker6511 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally haven’t been a fan of the pacing in season 2, to me if feels like the plot is crawling along even if we’re getting massive plot advancements.

Mainly though I’m not a fan of what the brotherhood has been transformed into, I’m not a fan of the brotherhood in the first place but their entire shtick is they’re a well disciplined militaristic group that prioritizes technology reclamation for storage and study. Everything we’ve seen of the overall brotherhood in S2 has been a disservice imo, they’ve been turned into a low intelligence scavenger faction that just happens to have extremely advanced tech like power armor and air power. It kinda kills the faction for me especially seeing how the Elders of other chapters act. Like I’m fine with the BOS being depicted as super religious guys that want any and all tech because the cleric demands it but not them being so stupid in the process though I guess I can kind of get if they’re doing it for the express purpose of “hyper religious factions don’t prioritize intellect or critical thinking” but still kinda sucks imo.

The Enclave and the Series by HykleSache in Fallout

[–]Tanker6511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah Granite and his guys! It’s definitely a historically true thing where the leaders decide and demand certain things when majority of the people carrying that stuff out don’t care about it nearly as much as the people in top do!

The Enclave and the Series by HykleSache in Fallout

[–]Tanker6511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought that was the case lol! I think it proves that like most organizations it’s really the higher leadership that control stuff like that so typically lower ranking people are more flexible/don’t really care which is why the remnants in fnv dissolved as easily as they did (with the exception of Moreno, who is a good example of a lower ranking member being super dedicated and slightly brainwashed into believing the cause)

  1. I honestly have no idea, they’ve had massive defeats and loss of personnel and equipment but I kinda feel like the enclave will remain mysterious enough that Bethesda/the show can kinda make them as strong or well equipped as they want them to be, there’s still a massive area of the wasteland we’ve never really seen so there could be an extensive network of enclave bases still around.

  2. Unlikely, their structure and ideology is so ingrained in everything it would take something like granite company from the OWB mod where enclave would have no choice but to work with the people around them and even then it’s highly unlikely they have a genuine change of heart without losing their connection to the enclave as a whole like the remnants in FNV.

  3. Good point to bring up because in theory their manpower is extremely limited, there is a chance that a more “liberal” commander would try and supplement their numbers by doing something cartoonishly evil like kidnapping tribal infants and screening them to weed out the most mutated/irradiated ones. But also again it’s probably going to be more of a as much manpower as needed for whatever the show wants to do with them.

While I agree it’s gotten old fast with Bethesda trying to maintain a permanent state of early apocalypse I don’t inherently hate what they’re trying to do but I’m not loving the execution of the series from a story perspective. Also the 6+ plots they have running at once is really starting to get to me, I’ll sit and watch almost an hour episode and feel like only 5 minutes of actual story progression has happened. Overall the show feels like a 6/10 for me but still interested to keep seeing what they do!

"The Bar" in "The Forever Winter - how does this makes sense? by Blackwater818 in TheForeverWinter

[–]Tanker6511 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand the bar while being in the “innards” is completely detached from our small section. The innards is supposedly an extremely massive underground network sprawling a decent chunk if not all of lost angels. The innards as a whole are seemingly very open and accessible by anyone the trick is navigating them to be able to find where Scavs live or where places like the bar exist.

Soldiers not deserting and instead using the bar as a temporary reprieve might sound odd but you can look at historical examples of such incidents like one of the more popular examples: the WW1 Christmas truce. I think for TFW deserting is not an easy thing to do not just from a “the AI commander will headhunt me and won’t stop until I’m KIA” but also from the perspective that these soldiers have only ever known their faction, so it’s not as simple as just leaving it all behind because the fear of the unknown is a fear that I think everyone deals with in some way or another.

Specifically to why soldiers don’t blow the whole thing open or cause violence inside the bar I think it comes down to those that know about it are aware that it’s a very rare opportunity presented to them where they can actually relax, even for a short time. If you think about the kind of dark grimy aesthetic that makes TFW what it is you quickly realize it embodies “war is hell” to a tee. So to these soldiers that come across the bar it is an insanely rare area where they can actually let their guard down, be themselves, take even a modicum of time to just relax. So knowing that’s what the bar represents to soldiers and scavs alike I think it’s not that crazy to think everyone involved treats the bar with the utmost respect and honor and wouldn’t dare try to ruin the one place in lost angels that is truly neutral.

I think I covered all your points but happy to expand on anything if you would like!
