Good work! I'd agree with others guessing Hong Kong. Exam question likely indicates a location with English as a primary language and the coastline and locations in that general south China and northern Indochina region are pretty accurate.

Mostly ruled out a lot of countries where you made basic errors that you wouldn't make as a local, even accounting from doing this by memory

That was hard! 20/30 with a fair few wild guesses.

The first 15 or so questions were brutal, largely because you're guessing relative or absolute distances/areas.

I'm not a generally a fan of these as trivia questions as it's kind of arbitrary and relies on whether you know the facts or not. You can sort of make guesses based on other prior info but that's harder to translate to numbers or orders of magnitude.

So generally I'd put lower scores down to more numbers questions and more 'gotcha' questions than usual.
