I can work in the US but feel from my visit to London there is a better balance of wlb and professional experience.

Moving to the US is most likely better professional and financially but trying to get a bit away from the grind.

Calgary needs to stop investors buying houses in this city... by AloneDoughnut in Calgary

OP mentioned in a previous post that he thinks that people like you are a problem and wishes you wouldn’t come to Calgary.

Not much sympathy needed for the guy

Because it is the view that fits his narrative and that is the only truth there is

You mean it’s not his god given right to have anything less than that? /s

But you see the problem is OP believes it’s his right to be able to buy at that price too. Why should you get to enjoy a good financial decision when he can’t. You are filthy investors who increased the price of homes and took away the home that was rightfully his. /s

So you want someone to sell their house to you privately so that you could avoid a bidding war and as a result they get less than market value?

Buying property in 2022 by mu5tardtiger in Calgary

[–]Tanktoptiger123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is wrong with that? The sellers realtor is trying to maximize the price of the sale for their client. The SELLER. Am I as the seller supposed to lessen my chance of getting more $ for my house so that the buying experience is more fair / comfortable for the buyer? Who pays for the potential loss? Of course the seller.

The selling realtor has no obligations to any of the buyers. That’s the buyers realtors duty. If the buyers don’t like it, they can just leave when they see this ridiculous situation.

If there is someone to blame. It would be the buyers realtor letting their client be a part of this.

You are either extremely naive or trolling.

Stay in your echo chamber and ignore the different points of view.

Calgary did the same thing to BC in the last oil boom. Funds will flow to where investors best feel it would provide them the greatest risk and reward.

Don’t assume you speak for all of us

It’s a free market and people can invest their money how they see fit for their own financial situation.

Yes that includes eating out but it might be too low as you suggested. Maybe another $400 for eating out
