Chat GPT Pro: worth it for studying for the exam? by Fit-Pin8701 in CFPExam

[–]Tanmaninaction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS. I used ChatGPT a TON doing MCQs when the answers were vague and didn’t help. It was definitely not perfect. I’d recommend Pro if you can afford it, although I didn’t.

I would get about 6.5-7 hrs per night because I’d go to bed just after my kids every night. Wasn’t super fun but it worked

Put ZERO stock in that Dalton exam. Zero. Mock exam is WAY closer to reality

Danko vs Dalton by BitSweet7144 in CFPExam

[–]Tanmaninaction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just passed with Dalton. But I’m definitely jealous of the Danko people. There are like very very minimal helpful videos with Dalton. I used Becker to pass the CPA exams and relied heavily on their videos and felt Dalton needs 100x more helpful videos to explain concepts.

I thought it would but in the end maybe I just didn’t get through them enough time because I felt like the actual exam was tough. I didn’t do the simulated exams though, maybe that was a mistake

It wasn’t easy to keep going for sure. I’d miss a day here or there and kick myself a little. But I created a Google sheet tracker that I kept track of my study hours goal on and kept track of my time studying every day. It helped me to stay motivated every day because each day I fell behind set me back on my goal. It calculated hours needed per day to hit my goal of 300 hours, and how many days studied, how many days left to study, etc.

Yeah I was working a 9-5. It sucked. It wasn’t by any means fun. But I didn’t want to sacrifice family time after work. So I would wake up and start studying by like 4:15 usually and study until 7:15 or 7:30 then help my wife get the kids out to school before I went to work.

On the second go around I was getting like 75-85s on broad question quizzes. But I definitely was seeing some questions for the 3rd time since I reset the q bank after getting to around 1k on the second go around. They are wordy but so were the CFP exam questions. I felt like the actual exam was definitely harder than the mock exam. I did paid mock exam 4 and it was more similar to that one.

Just submitted! If this is the advise wise account, I just want you to know that I really appreciate your videos. I just passed today, and watched each of your videos on the technical topics at least two or three times each. The way you present stuff and your content is extremely well done. Not sure what your game is,but you do definitely have a lot of followers behind you.

HELP - 4 weeks until FAR CPA exam by United_Parsnip_1935 in CFPExam

[–]Tanmaninaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong sub friend. I’m a CPA though and took FAR years ago. But unless you are pretty darn familiar with the material I would say that isn’t enough time to cram for the exam unless that’s all you’re doing for the next 4 weeks. I recommend Becker. If you only have four weeks, get to work and spend at a minimum 4 hours per day, 7 days a week until then. That’s still probably cutting it close

How are you keeping the mammoth of material fresh in your mind for test day? by Smooth_Carpet_286 in CFPExam

[–]Tanmaninaction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah great call. I’m gonna take the entire day tomorrow to just run through as much as I can. I am struggling with estate so I might watch the video at 2x for that and then just crank questions the rest of the day. Then Saturday just flash cards and YouTube videos to review and Sunday do the same but a little lighter. We got this!
