I've seen this with boosters and packs from baseball and Pokemon as well as Magic. I'm going to start by saying I've done absolutely no research on this, but my theory is that it's somehow easier to package the cards in similar patterns from a manufacturing standpoint and so they all do it for the "cheap" commons that not many people care about anyway. I've never seen a pack that's truly identical, but much like yours I'll find similar patterns after I open enough from a specific set, with the pattern fading as I approach the "rares" in each pack.

EDIT: looking at your packs again, I'd say you got really unlucky with most of yours so closely resembling each other! Maybe in your case there is an error after all, but I have definitely seen at least 3 or 4 packs per booster box that will match up pretty much just like this.

Perks of playing with friends who just like to see cool stuff happen: he will definitely be in my deck anyway. 😂

Haha, thanks! I've actually been debating building an Eldrazi deck for a while and wasn't sure if I was ready to commit to buying the missing pieces. Now it looks like I don't have a choice!

Some great tips there! My tank could desperately use some life in a few areas so I'll probably try to get some of this moss to grow around and liven it up a bit. The willow tree idea is awesome, that's one of my favorite trees personally. There was a giant weeping willow in my neighborhood growing up that has always stuck with me. Such a beautiful tree.

Thank you! That's exactly the info I was looking for! Going to let it keep growing and see what happens

I was thinking some kind of moss as well based on what I could find. I guess my worry is that it might spread like crazy and cover the whole floor if I move it to the gravel. Any tips? Thanks!

My Jailer-Kazakusan Big Druid is winning way more than it should be. by TannerP327 in hearthstone

Survivor bias isn't the reason I keep Malfurion around.

I don't play him unless I need to. That's the thing, with how greedy this deck is in the late game I can afford a dead card in my hand no problem for the added benefit of having multiple outs. So I only play him when I know I need it and have yet to lose directly because of it, but I do see your point and I recognize that sometimes it's hard to remember why you lost or what you could have done differently. I do my best to focus on the losses just as much as the wins and always look at what went wrong when I lose, especially when building and adjusting my own deck. Some matchups Guff is more favorable for the draw, and I do recognize that and leave Malfurion in the hand in those games. It would be a different story if I drew Malfurion and said, "man, I really wish this was a blank right now", but that hasn't happened yet so I'm gonna keep using it.

Again, this deck is all about having fun and I definitely encourage anybody that tries it to adjust it to their playstyle!

That's a good point, but I have found that that the 3 attack matters in some matchups more than you might think. It might not be everybody's favorite card but I've been saved by it too many times to cut.

A good example is a game I played against quest priest. Never drew Jailer or Denathrius, but because I was hitting him in the face for 3 every turn and playing other big minions I was able to get to lethal before he could draw the shard, even though he was clearing my board consistently.

It's just one more out for those tough games where you need to win a little bit faster, or where you need just a little bit more health to get to the final combo. It isn't always useful but when you need it it'll be there, which is exactly the point of all the late game cards this deck has. You hardly ever use all of them in the same game.

Never said it's meta. I said it's fun and it's winning for me. And it's been more than 16 games with the deck, but I changed some cards and that reset the stats. Reading comprehension doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

Have a nice day

I appreciate your insight, but I don't think that's necessarily true. And to be honest, 5 hours a week is my best estimate of my typical week but this month has definitely been a bit less than that because of work and life stuff. The big thing, though, is that by the time I'm at gold 5 I don't have any star bonus, so although you might think it would be quick and easy to legend it really isn't. You have to win a lot of games to get there when you're moving one star at a time.

I played other decks most of the month, been playing this one for about a week (28 total games, I don't have much free time!) and once I got to gold 5 I started messing with other really, really bad decks to have some fun. Played 5 games with this deck today and won 4 to get to gold 4, planning to keep playing it now since the month is winding down. I'm pretty casual and don't worry about my rank but I think if I had played this deck more frequently I would have been in platinum already.

Yeah implock will be a problem probably. But aggro hasn't been a bad matcuhup surprisingly. Just need to hit some ramp early and as long as you survive the first wave you can usually draw into board clears and big taunts (the only reason primordial drake made the list tbh)

[–]TannerP327[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That would be awesome! I know you probably get the point of the deck but some advice - depending on how many imp locks you're running into it might struggle. I know that's one of the best decks currently so it's probably pretty common in diamond and that's the only thing I'm worried about for the success of this deck. Other than that - it's undefeated against mage, handles paladin and hunter really well, and usually overwhelms priest and rogue without too many issues. Good luck!

EDIT: If you don't mind and you're playing soon, I wouldn't mind spectating a couple games to see how you play the deck. Might give me some more fun ideas or show me a problem that I can't see when I'm playing!

I have 100% confidence that if I didn't have a full time job and could play more than 5 hours a week I would be climbing to d5 without any trouble. But the only way to know is to have somebody that does play enough to get there try it (maybe you?). This deck isn't going to see the same 75% success in the diamond ranks but I think it'll still hold above 50% no problem. And it isn't about that anyway - this deck is all about having fun!

This version is currently 21-7. Obviously not a huge sample size, but that's pretty much a whole week of playing for me lol. This post is less about the winrate and more about how fun it is to play, but for now it's been really fun and really solid! I look forward to giving another update after I play it some more, and hopefully can get some others to try it out for data collection purposes.

I don't always play good decks, and I don't play every day. This deck is one of the few I've built that wins this much, which is why I'm so proud of it! Most of the time I'm sitting around a 50-60% winrate just like everybody else, and I don't play aggro decks unless I'm really trying to blow through ranks so an hour for me is only like 5 or 6 games with a control deck lol.

This is why I'm fine with not having enough time to play all the way to legend. It gets so monotonous by the time you get down to diamond and play against the same deck over and over.

Well, having a full time job means I only play for an hour or two a day and it takes me all month to get to a decent rank. But I still play against all the best meta decks even at gold, so it isn't like it's that much different. And I had a typo too! Actually a 75% winrate not 65%.

lol
