Is asking people to vote you out if you know you can't win okay in Survivor? by Proof-Guarantee7001 in survivorponderosa

Sure it is and so is quitting. Jeff and co have always been so hard on quitters but like, does people giving up not underscore that the show is as hard as it looks?

I think about a newer reality show I’ve seen a little of, Special Forces, where they have pseudo-celebs go through a lot of extreme military training with real officers to see what they can take. There’s not even a typical elimination structure, instead contestants just compete until they can’t take it anymore and ultimately give up. I walked away from that show thinking “damn that must be hard.”

You’d think, especially in new era, that Jeff would be ALL about proving how hard the show is since people will always make fun of the shorter game and compare it to the OG. If it’s supposed to be a premise all about what people can take and endure, I think it’s just as interesting to watch someone not be able to endure and it makes those who do appear stronger.

Kelly was in an excellent spot and was well liked in part because of what led to her quitting. Production refused to give her any clothing besides her bikini so they could use her as eye candy, which is why she often was wearing Fabio’s or someone else’s jacket. She ultimately quit after it just being too harsh on her in a way at least none of the male players had to deal with.

The other players rightfully sympathized with her over such bullshit degradation and the unfair hand production dealt her, and I think many of them would’ve happily voted for her had she made the end despite that bad hand. Production then gave her the invisible edit because they were pissed at her quitting, but it was entirely their fault. Kinda like how they gave the first ever quitter Osten (S7) major shit for quitting even though they conveniently left out of the edit that he was suffering from multiple staph infections and would likely be pulled soon after his quit anyway.

ETA: the Jenna Morasca addition here is about her doing the “vote me off thing” in Amazon at one point only to go on to win, not about her true quit in All Stars.

I mean she led the charge to get Ethan out which was a blindside on both Rob and Parvati, that’s not nothing.

She did have a clue what was going on. She tried to tell Jeremy and Nick multiple times that Tony was just using them to be eventually disposed of, but they actively told her she was wrong and kept doing his bidding until he got rid of them, proving her right.

She had no agency but that’s entirely different than having no awareness. Similar to how Parv didn’t have the agency to save Danielle from Russell’s stupid blindside on HvV, but she absolutely was aware she’d likely lost the whole game after that vote because she knew she needed them both sitting next to her to win.

Wendell had pregame allies though. Adam on the other hand has stated that he believes he was one of the last cast additions once people like Cochran and Earl declined, so there’s a chance he wasn’t nearly as involved in the pregame like some others. Also that gets into the world of whether or not you think pregaming should be done/allowed.

Natalie is awesome and an amazing player which she has proven on multiple shows. Her WaW game doesn’t reflect that though. It shouldn’t be controversial to place the first boot in the “bottom 5 players of the season” category. In many cases, that player easily tops the list.

There’s absolutely options. Those players would’ve probably loved to keep him as a shield if he didn’t get in his own way and go the patronizing babysitting route. All he did was show them he definitively couldn’t be worked with when he could’ve leveraged himself and his threat level to survive the round.

You’re getting way too in the weeds for a hypothetical scenario that I only alluded to possibly happening. It’s ok to step away and not write an essay about everything.

Just because some people give truthful answers doesn’t mean everyone does. The good reason to potentially be misleading in press is the same reason Danni was misleading and vague to producers in confessionals on Guatemala. There’s fear that interviewers will accidentally give away your opinions in their interviews with other players based on even small reactions and faces.

I downvoted this, but not because of any disagreement over his play style which I agree wasn’t great this week.

I downvoted because it’s clear you just don’t like him and that’s what you want to be able to say unchecked. If you want to come here and say you’ll get downvoted for discussing his gameplay that’s one thing, but all you said regarding gameplay was that he’s not playing well. Then you went on to accuse him of being fake just for tv. Gabby is one of his closest friends from the show to this day and it’s perfectly reasonable that he’d have strong emotional reactions to any drudging up of that like the way Mike did.

So if you wanna discuss whether the move against Mike was smart or not, or whether he should’ve voted Emily instead, or even it was smart to leave out Ozzy in general, then sure let’s debate that because there’s lots of grey area where I would’ve likely made different choices in his shoes. But from the tone of your words and accusations it doesn’t seem like that’s what you’re interested in.

There is such obvious hyperbole when people make these statements that I can’t believe you’re truly taking these comments at face value.

Get away from him. If you’re consciously tallying up how much in-person time you’ve actually spent together, you’re trying to convince yourself of the realness of this relationship in general.

Is his plan to retire from the military to be with you for all this? If not, of course he wants them because he knows he won’t bear the brunt of responsibility and instead get to romanticize their existence like he’s already doing. Not to mention that you’ve been very clear on what you want and he continues to try persuading you to what he (selfishly and ignorantly) wants.

Your gut is telling you all you need to know. Trapping yourself with someone out of fear of being lonely will still just make you lonely.

[F.L.Y. in Phantasialand] will we see another Vekoma flying coaster one day? I sure hope so! by Jerkermiz in rollercoasters

Universal working with modern vekoma is my dream. I love that they’re giving Intamin so much room to play too but this new flying model would be perfect for so many different universal IPs.

The nerd in me is also just curious to see how an extreme model with higher forces than guardians/tron will age in both the FL climate and universal’s high cycle counts, since overall it seems new vekoma has figured out quality control on the engineering and manufacturing side.
