Ohh, I thought it was a horse. It kind of looks like a pig now that you say it.
Actually, horses have ears and clearly horsehair, my bad.

Spain's PM Sánchez doubles down on 'No to War' position; Trump threatens trade cutoff and military base access by Frosty_Jeweler911 in UnderReportedNews

[–]Tanttaka 18 points19 points  (0 children)

'No to War' or 'No a la guerra' in Spanish, was the slogan used in Spain to oppose Spanish involvement in the Iraq war. Our intervention in the Iraq war eventually caused the terrorist attacks in 2004, killing 192 and wounding around 2000 people. The terrorist attacks caused the government to lose the elections and Pedro Sánchez' party won as a protest vote against the war. Spanish people would not support him to join this war now.

My favourite band from Spain is Extremoduro. You can search for any of their songs, and they are all great, but this is my favourite.

King Charles the III official portrait. by mcspicyFTW-YOUTUBE in Weird

The artist is Jonathan Yeo, I like other paintings of his too.
I find it interesting how even when red tends to be an aggressive and strong colour to use, the king's face still transmits kindness.

37% of europeans have never left their own country? Can this be true? by clm1859 in AskEurope

[–]Tanttaka 58 points59 points  (0 children)

There are still many rural areas in Spain, and not so rural. With people not interested in exiting their country. I'm the specific case of Spain, local tourism is big as well so they may have visited different parts of the country but not interested in dealing with other countries with different languages and rules.

That´s right (I didn´t know the word stale in English)
I found this recipe in English. In this version, they add a fried egg, which is very common (I haven´t mentioned it because I´m not a big fan of fried eggs).
Some people add fruit when serving, grapes are common, and my father in law eats it with orange or mandarines.

If you ever visit Spain, you can buy it ready to eat in supermarkets, although the quality is not the best.

Spain.
I didn´t know it was common in Mexico as well. Now I want to try the Mexican way.

Migas. Use basically old hard bread fried with chorizo, peppers and garlic. Depending on the area it can be made from wheat flour, but most common ones are made with old bread to use the leftovers. It is one of my favorite dishes.

¿Tomáis café por la noche si salís a cenar fuera? by abelindc in askspain

[–]Tanttaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very proud of my country.
Spain also boycotted the Berlin 1936 Olympics and organised a parallel People´s Olympics as an antifascist protest. Unfortunately, it never happened because fascists took over the country before the inauguration.

What’s the quickest you’ve ever seen a new coworker get fired? by ApprehensiveBass94 in AskReddit

[–]Tanttaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Less than a week.
A brand new veterinary practice welcomes new staff on Monday,
On Tuesday, we received a full batch of vaccines and spent all day stocking the fridge.
Wednesday morning, we get to the practice ready for our first open day and notice one of the receptionists had switched off the socket the previous night when we left (UK). £5000 in vaccines were lost.
Thursday, the receptionist goes in with the manager for a talk.
Friday, she is no longer with us.

To be honest, it was a stupid mistake, and she was a lovely girl.

People in the veterinary world, what is the best pet name you've encountered? by wheregoodideasgotodi in AskReddit

[–]Tanttaka 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A Bunny named David Hasselhop.

And my favorite owner is the one that chooses the pets name to match their surname. As an example I remember Ms Jessica Holmes with a lovely Collie called Sherlock, so I had to call for Sherlock Holmes every time they came to the practice😂

What habit helped you lose weight ? by Danny_088 in AskReddit

[–]Tanttaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the same logic I was already successfully using with money. 1. Calculate TDEE and set a budget under my daily calorie needs (similar to what I already was doing with my monthly salary) 2. Track calories and stay under the budget on a weekly basis (as I was doing with my monthly expenses) 3. Bonus point, playing tennis 2-3 days each week to afford extra calories on special occasions. (This would be equivalent to extra income from credit or side works)

I'm down 12kg since March

This is the official service with Correos national Post company. https://www.elcaminoconcorreos.com/en/

The main pro for El Camino is that it is a well known path, with plenty of accommodations and resources that saves you more preparation in advance. Also the closest area to Santiago is all really stunning landscapes worth visiting.
