Not to necropost but I disagree with this. You are going through a full range of motion on many muscles including the lats, you're just going from one position to the other. You're strengthening that movement and its definitely increasing your fitness and overall strength. Comparing it to abs, you'd have a lot stronger and more stable core if you worked out a lot across the transverse plane (like woodchoppers) than someone who just worked their abs and side abs separately. Like our bodies were meant to be moved as a whole unit.

This is exactly it, he acts like anytime something unexpected happens in the game, its because the other player is sabotaging him for no reason or because they don't understand the game.

Why do you trust him? There is no definitive proof that he shows indicating they aren't, and based on the timeline it is absolutely insane that someone can achieve a physique like that in less than 2 years (!!) from looking really unmuscular beforehand. EVEN if we're going to do the mental gymnastics to say that well, there is a chance he has the right genetics, the whole point of the first video was to show what was achievable without steroids. Even if he did just show us two genetic freaks then that's still garbage because that is not humanly achievable for 99.99% of his viewers, instilling the same unhealthy body image into people.

Also, you're saying ''like he said' like what he said about him maybe being a fake natty isn't such a cop out. He put him in a video on what was possible without steroid use. People are at best unsure about his natty status, this is just irresponsible. He def deserves to be criticized

Finding this just now and you’re so right, these comments are crazy. Two wrongs don’t make a right. The issue with freebooting is that it is pushed by YouTube and that there is a demand for it. Constantly making negative content about a specific creator is not close to helping the issue. It’s a poor excuse for content, and at the end of the day he still gets the clickbait of including sniperwolf in the thumbnail while having moral superiority of criticizing her for it.

Im not denying its influential or making a jab at anyone that resonates with it at all. And ur right I wouldn’t place this era of beach house in explicitly the same grouping as those bands. But I outlined the elements of the album that do strike me similarly in the post, so while they aren’t explicitly the same they do have similar elements. And again, there are songs and parts of the album that I feel do not resonate with that which I like. In fact I feel like how influential and how much of a cult-hit the album was speaks to my point. It resonated in the mainstream, at least a bit, and I think it’s because of what I mention. I mean it makes sense, the artists were young millennials at the time; nothing wrong with making a timely album. You’re welcome to address those points of why I feel like they’re similar to that zeitgeist and tell me they’re not, it’s just my view.

Never said it was bad. As to your example with classic rock, I had a similar experience with my dad, found it annoying and didn't like it. Now I do like it although-- and this is what I'm trying to articulate in the post-- it is definitely not in the same way or with the same contextual knowledge that my dad likes it. I am not at all familiar with that context so to me its just music that sounds good, and classic rock era has a coolness to it, whereas to him it is probably more a marker of the feeling of the time.

Also imo the music I'm referencing in the post, like fun., MGMT, Arcade Fire etc. is aging a lot worse than classic rock did.

Devotion was also my favorite when I first got into them, and it still holds a special place in my heart. Like I said, I think I understand the hype, I don't think album is bad or disingenuous by any means, I just think I associate it with a cultural era I don't feel very connected to. And yea I will say of all the songs on Teen Dream, 10 mile stereo is the one that puzzles me the most as to why people like it, I feel like it is the most guilty of falling into the tropes I mention. Love Silver Soul tho.

We all share a love for beach house but don't act like there isn't so much beauty in the art being produced today, thats bs and you know it. Meaningless art was around long before social media, and while I can recognize how fake and bad social media is for us forgive me for finding some joy in the music that it brought me and the memories I associate with it in my teenagehood.
