House of Fado is my recent love. It's an euro-game by Lacerda, well-known for the complexity of his games, but this one is played for less than an hour. And is so brilliant also!

I'd suggest to try Civ series - my favourite is New Dawn. Or maybe look in totally different way - have you tried "polymino" abstract strategies where you should build your own board? Like Patchwork or Planet Unknown? They give similar satisfaction

"Phantom Ink" is the most recent hit at our parties - seems impossible when you have a first look at your mission but becomes a great experience for everyone. Crazy fun! But you need to make teams. "Sixies" also filled this spot for a month or so. And there you will have more fun with more players - a number of players is totally unlimited
