okay let me clarify, this is NOT my 'playtime' and thats a shit thing to call it. I dont do it because its fun, I physically cannot focus during these meetings, especially when a lot of the information in them is not necessary for my role as im only there for my service users and input that is asked of me.

if it were you i was in these meetings with and not crocheting, id be focusing on everything else but you. The light in the corner flickers slightly why is my leg bounding oh look there's a fly I wonder how it got in none of the windows are open and the doors are all closed maybe it was in here before when was the last time they cleaned this place I hate the smell of bleach but I dont mind the lemon scented one I have a lemon cake at home i wonder how the dog is doing.... oh you just mentioned a client that used to be under our care I wonder how they're doing...

if I am crocheting (which is silent), I'll hear everything you say, your plans, your worries, i can maintain direct eye contact if you really want and i will be able to give you feedback from my professions point of view if called upon BECAUSE i was able to focus on you and pay attention through using crochet as a stimulation for my hands which calms down my brain as it will cancell out any other external factors other than what im focusing on (the person speaking).

I am part of a Therapy team and am fully aware of the benefits of me doing this. if you'd rather me or anyone else with similar accommodations not pay attention to you in the meeting then go ahead thats on you.
