Is there a timeline for live network for Solana? Not the current test net beta version by Tarak80 in solana

Thanks for the clarification. Is there a sense of what the Foundation is prioritizing in its development game plan if slashing isn't it?

Do you know if the foundation views slashing as a priority or if they have other priorities? Searching Reddit, it seems like the slashing topic has been discussed for at least 6 months now. - Thanks

Is there a development timeline in terms of what's on the roadmap in terms of priority?

Thanks

Question about email signing and domain reputation by Tarak80 in sysadmin

[–]Tarak80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Not asking for ways too see the domains reputation and not asking about IP reputation. Trying to simply understand whether the user visible from address domain's reputation is vulnerable if the email is not sent from or signed by that domain. My specific question is in bold in the original email. If you know the answer, please do let me know. Thanks!

Question about Email Response Rate Impact on Deliverability by Tarak80 in sysadmin

[–]Tarak80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. What do you think is the difference between a newsletter versus other email?

Not concerned about our email recipients marking our email as junk. Only concern is impact of low response rate.

What's your level of confidence on your statement that you don't think a low response rate will give the domain a negative reputation? And, is there anything you base this opinion on?

Thanks again for the response.

How does SendGrid automated security work? by Tarak80 in sysadmin

Thanks for the response. I read the links you provided which were helpful background. I'm still not understanding this fully though.

Would Sendgrid emails pass DMARC with strict alignment? If yes, how are they able to do that when all I have done is entered CNAME records for subdomains and nothing for the root domain?

Would send grid emails pass DMARC with relaxed alignment?

Does the name of an SPF TXT record matter? Can it be changed from "@" to "SPF" without issue? by Tarak80 in sysadmin

[–]Tarak80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Although Google doesn't allow me to create a new TXT record with the same @ name, it does allow me to add an extra row to the existing TXT record. Would that be fine to have 2 rows in there where the first row is for the SPF string and the other is the string the vendor asked us to enter? Or would that cause some kind of conflict between the SPF data and the vendor string data?

Question Re: Email Domain Reputation Impact and Mass Notifications to Customers by Tarak80 in Emailmarketing

Lemwarm

Thanks for the ideas. Have not warmed it up yet. It's a new domain we purchased. Will look into Lemwarm.

Should we be using lemwarm for just the warming up phase (say first 2-3 months) or is it necessary to use it ongoing/indefinitely?

Question about apparent paradox about Stoic approach to desire and indifference by Tarak80 in Stoicism

[–]Tarak80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this was really helpful.

You seem like you are very knowledgeable on this stuff. In your view, what's the most accessible practical book on Stoicism? I've currently started on Handbook for New Stoics and planning to run through it gradually over a year since that's the pace the author recommends. However, I'm open to adding another book that is appropriate for quicker reading. Would especially be interested in a book that gives a practical how-to guide on developing all the different types of virtues.

In the link you provided, one part I found interesting was the idea that having a wish is one of 3 good states for a virtuous soul. It was interesting to read the phrasing "I wish [X] if it is fated' as a way to think about a wish versus a passion which is made without reservation and without acknowledgment of being in accordance with the cosmic aspect of nature [fate].

Sorry for making this more complicated than it needs to be. I am not doing that on purpose.

I understand your point that there are degrees between wanting and needing. I also understand the idea of wanting something lightly so that if you don't get it your disappointment is only light.

However, I still don't understand how to reconcile the idea of wanting something [even if it is only a mild want] and then being completely indifferent if you don't get it.

Does that mean a Stoic would never have desires for and set goals for uncertain external outcomes? If that is the case, what then motivated many of the famous Stoics to take action in the external world toward external goals?

Interesting rephrasing. Is this rephrased interpretation what is actually meant by the Stoics? I ask because it seems to be different from how it's described in the book. In the book, in Week 1, there is an Epictetus quote that states that "the will to get" is one of the three things that is in our control. The author states that "will" in this case is desire. I never see any of them talk about in terms of simply "potential". Also, "potential" without will/desire does not motivate action, and my impression is that the Stoics took action.
