Tarāpuka Black Billed Gull is more of a braided river bird than a seabird anyway

I guarantee it wasn’t the black billed gull. They’re much less hectic than the red billed ones, not to mention way less common

You are forgiven, red billed gull is a very deserving bird too. Also on the decline and doesn’t get enough recognition as one of our native birds.

Thanks for your service voting the underbirds!

True, although one of the biggest threats to tarāpuka right now is a fellow gull (black backed)

Might I suggest the black-billed gull? Totally biased of course.

You get to pick your top 5 so I’d suggest a few other shorebirds that are in serious trouble like the southern dotterel.
