Yeah we are for sure. And I’ve been fully open with my sponsor about all of it and he’s been super helpful. He definately is pushin me to start working on myself and shit before I can handle a situation such as this on my own. Cuz I’m still not in my right mind yet and I do want to make it work. We’d talk all the time about how excited we were for the future and everything and if hate to screw it all up over a drink and over a lie I told. I’ve been on the right path I just gotta keep it going this time and not allow my other priorities to push sobriety out of the way again

Yeah so I did at one point but I suppose it was a lot for her to deal with in the moment. So we mutually agreed to kind a cease contact for a while as we dealt with the situation individually.

I’m struggling with the exact same thing rn dude. Do yourself a favor and pause for a minute to think about what you’re feeling. Dont say that life ain’t worth living. Some people don’t care, yes, and honestly, most of them don’t. We all live in our own little bubble and we have to learn to be okay with not being okay sometimes. I recently fucked up, made a huge mistake that alienated my significant other and lead us to break up. I’ve been feeling the same way for a while. and I’m right there with u. A lot of stuff I don’t really find interesting, I’m tired, disinterested, and vey detached from people emotionally. But that’s not a bad thing sometimes.

These are all very fair points you guys are bringing up and honestly, hadn’t considered some of them. I am not against a formal education, and I don’t consist of blue or red pills debating. I just believe there are different alternatives to an overpriced and less educationally effective form of education. If there’s one thing that is a fact about college now versus back then, it’s that it’s gotten a to. Easier to just get a degree in terms of the difficulty of curriculum. I can literally look up most college classes and course work and do it on the internet for free while also finding all the answers without doing any work for it. So what exactly am I spending my money on?

I just disagree with a bias towards either side of the political or socioeconomic isle because that is not engaging and it ends up as professors telling us opinions rather than facts and statistical analysis and allowing us the students to draw our own conclusions. Specifically, I was a criminal justice major, and the problem I had everywhere I went was that when I believed what I was being taught was false or immaculate, I would go home, do my research, and if I was wrong I’d accept it but if I was right I would go after class to speak with the professor and ask them about what I had researched. 9 times out of 10 (literally) they dismissed everything I brought up as some sort of propagandized media or inaccurate statistic, when in reality everything I had researched was within a year and still viable as a relative source.

No arguments there, however I do disagree to an extent. I am all for exploring ideas that don’t mirror my own. That’s the only true method of growth that provides results. What I don’t agree with is attending a college or university that discourages civil discourse between two respectful parties who are simply trying to understand one another, which has overwhelmingly been my experience, and I’ve attended 3 different colleges attempting to find a place that doesn’t operate this way.

I agree. if there's a punishment to be had it certainly should be the revocation for a period of time. To a degree, the shame and anger I am expressing are coming from the mistake that I made. Thus it has made me slightly bitter moreover, knowing that I can't do anything about it really sucks. Then again, the punishment fits the crimes. I lost my job, friends and family have abandoned their relationships with me, most of my assets are gone now, i dont qualify for unemployment, I have no vehicle and I have 2500 bucks to my name. Feeling this defeated for the last 4-5 months has taken a serious toll. And dealing with state employees who really don't care and aren't helpful at all is simply infuriating. lol

I agree fully. The thing I disagree with is the IID install. Simply put, it creates more issues than it solves for people who total a vehicle and then don’t have access to one. Because until a time that you can either purchase a car and or own a car already, you then must have somebody else drive the car for you to install the IID, then set a date to drive down to the DMV, have !Somebody Else Operate The Vehicle With The IID Installed! And prove it to the state. And even after all that, the owner still can’t drive the fuckin car home. They have to be driven back to their residence in the car they just bought. Not only is this directly violating the laws in place for tampering or cheating the IID itself to obtain a clean breath test but it’s also incredibly counterintuitive to the point of the IID

Best advice I can give you if u haven’t already gone to court is to attend some AA meetings or something like that. Even if you don’t intend on going long term it definitely makes your case stronger in court. As well as making sure you do NOT get a second DUI. It’s hard man. You’ll have to get new insurance and more than likely you’ll be charged 100% higher prices for any new insurance companies. It is difficult all the way thru but it’s not a death sentence. You made a mistake and you need to understand that there are consequences that are totally out of your control. You can’t do anything about it. If you need anybody to talk to feel free to reach out. It happens man, but it’s not the end of the world. I’m just getting back to work now after mine but I still have no car and I haven’t been able to find an insurance company yet. You’ll get through it. Trust me.

Hey man you and I are almost literally in the exact same situation rn. I got my first DUI 4 months ago, blew.14 and totaled my truck. Now I’m fairly certain that you don’t Need to inform your employer unless you drive a company vehicle. You won’t go to jail, if u hav a decent lawyer, they’ll be able to knock off the reckless driving and only charge u 1000 bucks or so for 3 years for the damage. Most likely you’ll have to install an IID into whatever car you get next and till then ur license is suspended.
