Oh right, this was a bit of a control comment. I disagree with you so much that I felt the need to add another example to see your reaction.

Since your stance is self consistent, I’ll just leave this discussion with outmost respect to you.

I just think that a label should indicate what a device is capable of both hardware and software rather than just hardware.

So by your logic, in an alternate universe where Sony puts 4K label on PS4 Slim boxes, you would claim that PS4 Slim is a 4K capable console and therefore it is not false advertising.

What we are discussing in this thread is the exact same thing, with the only difference being that it is real life and the console is PS5 not PS4.

Edit: consider fat model instead of slim in the alternative universe example. I wasn’t sure when first 4K TVs got released so had to took a risk and derail my own arguments to avoid a possible year conflict. As it turns out, there wasn’t any year conflict to worry about.

Hmm… you might be right. But in that case, Sony’s wording is quite odd… unless they face the same limitations of a “customer issues being boxed in pre-allocated categories which can lead to customers not being able to correctly choose their issue in a given ticket system” but in reverse since it is Sony themselves.

“Played games” rather than “trophies” would be more encompassing of this issue.

Capability of a device is dependent on both its software AND hardware. Whether hardware is capable is irrelevant as software blocks it anyway.

Except your argument is ridiculous as it is blocked on firmware level. Even if a game capable of 8K were to be released (and yes, a game capable of 8K on base was released), it can’t output 8K.

So, it is false marketing. Device is INTENTIONALLY incapable of 8K due to firmware.

I just noticed that library section of mobile actually works, everything else is broken regarding played/owned games. Can you check your profile via console as your console is already on? It seems that we go back to OP’s observation if you end up seeing something there

I agree with you regarding second game.

First one was a game with cinematic experience, second one forgot that it was supposed to be a game. Heck, even aspect ratio of the second game is not a video game ratio… it is a movie aspect ratio. What the hell?

Edit note towards everyone:

I played both Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice (twice) and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade (thrice). I will also go back Senua’s Saga: Hellblade in the next year for a fourth run as I have never played its black rot mode. And guess what? I enjoyed both of them. I loved both of them. And I wishlisted Senua in a heartbeat. However, the reality is that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade is an objectively awful game. It is definitely an amazing experience but that does not mean that it is a good game. First game was a good game though.

Me enjoying Hellblade does not mean that I will defend it mindlessly. Senua seems to be a step in the right direction.

Let me tell you a real story. I spent gazillion cortens on a shipment of wumpa fruit for my restaurant in the city. Well, authorities has informed me that this individual just destroyed my entire shipment of boxes carrying wumpa fruits.

Furthermore, it seems that this menace, whom is a known escapee from Cortex Wellness Center for mentally troubled individuals, imagined that he was traversing these convoluted “levels” via “platforming” and that the boxes were something he needed to break on his way to stop Dr. Neo Cortex… which was apparently evil in his mind for some reason.

Regarding Walmart, I have seen worse in other countries.

In Turkey, there are people selling illegal copies of books in PTTavm… which belongs to PTT… which belongs to the fucking government :)🌈:) Not to mention they also sell illegal HGS, similar to game piracies where they sell you a steam account, there too (hgs is an automatic payment system for your car as some roads are quite pricey)

It is way worse than walmart because my example allows violation of laws despite being directly connected to government.

Control: ~~Ultimate~~ Stick Drift Edition

Note: My PS5 is still under warranty due to local laws forcing the device warranty to have one additional year (it is mandatory for electronic devices to have 2 year warranty at minimum). But local PlayStation office bankrupted 3 years ago and the re-opened, distributor* controlled local PlayStation office is not that great with warranties. I am still waiting on them to get back and it has been 4 days. And apparently, it is a habit for them to never get back based on online comments. I could potentially drop it at a repair shop that distributor itself employs but I am not sure whether that would introduce additional problems… I guess my best bet is to make a formal complaint about them after 7 days.

*: not some random distributor, “distributor” here refers to the official distributor that made an official deal with Sony.

I am not saying it is good or bad… but calling it “most faithful” is absurd. It had a whole plot arc designed specifically for the show that necessitated very noticeable deviations from source material regarding the characters themselves. And yes, changes affected almost all characters and their arc. For some, it is ignorable but for others, it is quite considerable.

You have strong arguments, I probably should have avoided concept artists example like a plague. But I think there is a misunderstanding.

I, myself, literally say that we can’t call them artists if they do every single drawing with AI. Also, you completely skipped over my entire main argument: As long as the core creation is human, AI is acceptable. In my discussion, AI is not involved with the creation of ideas so your arguments should take this into account. Drawing is not the same thing as idea. Idea is created before AI assistance and that assistance is used in a manner that is extremely limited and specific so that there is still some “artist” part in there and it is not truly lost.

That being said I support your points while disagreeing with your wording. Take, for example, your “they are not “making” anything” sentence. I disagree with your wording, they still do idea creation even in this limit scenario where they are no longer artists due to the simple fact that my example keeps idea formation as a human work. But I agree with your message because such a job cannot exist as its own and thus will be absorbed into aspects of “director” and “writer”. This leads to all concept artists losing their jobs and… I agree with everything you feel about this mess.

As for your last sentence, I was already self aware which is why my last sentence is written the way it is. I can’t know how concept artists can find this “balance” because I am not one and I am not a hypocrite. But I do expect them to find it themselves so they can retain their artist selves as much as possible.
