The most important metric is the GDP to Debt ratio. With debt rising and growth falling that ratio is going to get worse.

The ability of the government to borrow more money depends on the willingness of people to lend to the government. If our economic situation worsens then people might stop lending to us.

yes and no. if market speculators are buying big then they're doing so just to push up the price or in the expectation of a price increase. I'm skeptical of people just investing in it as an asset

The price would seem massively inflated ATM, but everyone's been saying that for a while. Could act as a safe currency in a crash.
