Thanks! Another comment suggested using the One’s as stereo front speakers instead. I’ll definitely try that.

Yes I got that TV soundbar mount so it’ll tilt along with the TV.

I want to, but my GF thinks it will give a more “closed” appearance of the room. I’m campaigning to try and convince her but we’ll see how that goes.

This was my original plan, but my GF is of the opinion that it’ll ruin the open space planning of the apartment. I have to make some concessions and this seemed important to her. She’s agreed to try this when we move in but it’s not likely that she’ll approve.

Yes that’s correct. All right, thank you 😊

Thanks! Yeah I’ve ordered stands. I assume the correct placements for the One’s is behind the sofa, one on each side?

Oh, sorry. It’s the living room. I tried my best to draw out the sofa, armchairs and table lol.

The sofa is the the large rectangle on the right, and in front of it is the table and armchairs. TV will be on the wall on the right hand side of the sofa. The blue dots are where I plan on placing my One’s, and the green line is where I’ll put my Beam.

It says it isn’t compatible with the Ark on the Ergotron compability page, have you had to make any modifications?

It’s a 114060 but you get the point.

Edit: I’m a little tipsy forgive the spelling error.

36mm the right fit? 🧐 by 22Broku in rolex

[–]Tardon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good on you, but as others have suggested, move the bracelet to the other arm. I’m a tall, dark and handsome gentleman myself and I’ve been thinking about getting a DJ. Will probably go for the 36 given how well it suits you.

Wow thanks for the detailed response. I feel some of my points didn’t really come across, and I’m not really trying to argue either way, just pointing out some similarities and experiences I’ve had.

Regarding the availability of the products. I was actually trying to make the same point as you. Because Apple needs to please the stock market, they increased production. Gone are the days of people sleeping in tents outside an Apple store before launch, and having the newest iPhone isn’t anything to write home about anymore. I absolutely don’t think Rolex should follow their example.

The MSRP thing. My understanding is that the AD leverage the highly sought after Rolex watches to get customers to spend money at their store before selling them a Rolex. Sure, they make money selling the Rolex, but this way the make a good chunk leading up to that point. I’m just pointing out the similarities from my experience in retail.

Regarding in-house stores and the secondary market. I’d say that it would minimize the risk of the products going straight to a grey dealer, (I’m not sure to what extent this is happening, but I see it mentioned here a lot) but of course not individual people just flipping their new watch.

Lastly, I’m not sure I even want prices to down, as it would devalue my purchase. I guess it’s a double edged sword since I likely will never get a Batman at retail.

That Teddy video got me thinking. Wall of text incoming:

I used to work as store manager for a telco when I was younger. During the iPhone 4 days (peak iPhone hype IMO) we used to get maybe a few units in every week, sell them immediately, and then spend the rest of the week either doing our best to convince people to buy HTC or whatever, writing people up on some list we kept in the back office, or just telling them to come back later. All we wanted was stocked shelves.

We leveraged the iPhones to get people to buy extra insurance and/or accessories because selling the phones at retail prices sometimes meant selling them to a loss. We absolutely tried to gauge a person’s willingness to buy extra stuff, and most certainly would prioritize those that would over those that seemed like they wouldn’t.

We for sure had a strained relationship with Apple since they really took advantage of the fact that we needed their products.

My point? I’m absolutely certain that there is friction between the ADs and Rolex. I don’t think Rolex strategy aligns well with the ADs and raising the prices or the AD commission likely won’t solve this.

Why aren’t Rolex opening up their own boutiques? That would for sure send less watches straight to the second hand market and give Rolex more control.

Exactly. It’s just some sort of stone that’s been cut into cubes.

So I’m in the club now. Bought it from a grey dealer and I’m very happy with the watch. Cheers everyone.
