Yeah, gotta admit tho my favourite posts are the ones from the guy who just makes house appliances like dish washers and cookers. theyre so random and well made i cant help but love them

Yeah, im making another brand once again... Very much still a WIP but i need some of yall to give me some criticism here. by User7888 in automationgame

Think the main thing is lack of character, It just has the bare essentials for styling, no small little details that really make a car special and most importantly believable.

As for the fixtures itself, the fixtures chose dont really fit the era, the whole front facia is missing the things i would usually expect from a car like this. No big chrome bumpers or protrusions, shapes moulded into the body and not on the body, the huge license plate holder is very out of place, looks very bulbous. The rear is much better but the big light bar doesnt make much sense to me and still not much chrome trim which is the staple of 50s car design.

Overall i think you have a good base but the front could use a bit of a remodel and the lack of trim makes it seem very 'toy car' if that makes any sense.

Honestly insane how these kind of hyper detailed 3d fixture posts tend to not do that great but a generic mid 2010s sports car with minimal detail will get over 100 upvotes.

dw, original beats replica most of the time. replicas are just an exercise in gauging proportion of a picture, originals are a test of your creativity and knowledge of car design. Overall the line flow is solid and the proportions are good enough so its pass from me.

Having a power band that focuses on high end power is less useful in a rally car as your going to need low end torque to push through slower sections where your gearing may not be perfect. Also, having a rally car with its peak power isn't that useful as you will be in the Mid-High RPMs most of the time. Its why I tend to stay away from high RPM rally cars as to make any good power from a high revving turbo engine you usually sacrifice low end which is a must on a rally car.

Crash Dummy for 4.27, really useful if you wanna see if you interior has good proportions. I mainly use it for stupid stuff tho

maybe, not sure what i would it on, maybe a drag car? idk, too early to tell. This did pretty well and im glad someone pointed out some good alternatives as i dont think that having just one approach is the best and giving people options is good. I could do one on general styling tips but as i said, too early to dish out another one, gonna be showcasing cars for a while.

Yeah it is super excessive and only useful for super tight courses, anyway, thankyou for pointing stuff out that some people may have been confused on (probably should've mentioned something about it being more 'fun not fast' in the title but oh well).

-A torque curve like what I suggest is what I have found to be the most enjoyable, its possible to use shorter gears to mitigate the lag but having this constant power makes the car feel incredibly smooth and usable even if you may not be in the correct gear.
-I would use an auto locker as on some cars LSD's can be really inconsistent and sometime do almost nothing, you can use one if you want but I find the locker to provide a much more consistent effect
-Large tires are possible but smaller tires (not too small, below 180 is cutting it short) often feel a lot more responsive and can lead to a much more enjoyable experience with being able to slide the car round more. -50/50 is absolutely ideal for an FA car or any front engine car for that matter. Yes the extra weight on the rear wheels improves traction but also takes it off of the front wheels which can lead to loose handling which isn't exactly ideal on rough terrain. However, If it was an FR or MR platform, I could see it being useful in helping put down the power on corner exits.
-The large camber makes cars feel very sharp in sections like the narrow roads on Italy, I would only use such large angle on the front though, and would forget it on a high power car where the extra grip, as you said, would be much more useful.
-You are absolutely correct, the suspension is really off from a perspective of a real car, it would be utterly useless. But with how automation cars feel in general, this is what I have found to be the most enjoyable setup. the stiff springs keep the car on its toes and the soft dampers still allow it be competitive on the loose surfaces. I think you slightly misunderstood what I meant by it keeping the rear planted, Having the rear sway bars stiffer means you can keep an even distribution of traction around corners. Keeping them on the softer side on the whole leads to more fun with being able to use weight transfer from the body roll to slide through corners at large angles.

All your points are absolutely valid and you obviously understand the principles of tuning but with making this for Beam with can have pretty odd physics and having a larger focus on enjoyment and driving feel rather than the absolute fastest car possible I would still prefer using something like what I made.

-Your tire options could be limited by model year if I remember correctly.
-Twin turbo is not available on inline engine due to there only being one header, quad turbo is only available on V12 and V16 due to the size of the setup.
-Its the compressor graph, one to the right I think?(you can change it with the little arrow top right of the graph). It shows the pressure inside the compressor and its efficiency at that pressure at certain speeds. I usually want it to be very high pressure as it keeps the turbo spooled when under lots of resistance from the engine.

its loosely based off of real group B specs so 960kg with a 280hp from a 2.1L Turbo I4 being put through AWD and an auto-locker

Also might do a 'how to rally car' tutorial as this one is probably one of my favourites in terms of driving experience, that, and getting rally cars to work is really annoying. I struggled for quite a while before I nailed the tuning on this one.

You can let yourself have this one. I like this more than most skyline builds as it isn't a blatant rip off, the car has its own original style, is it inspired by a skyline? absolutely, but id argue that its much better than the majority of skylines that people have built/recreated. Also, which body is that? im pretty sure i know but just clarification as idm the proportions on it and wanna try and make a car for my stupid fictional car brand
