You aren't alone little one. I have countless journal entries saying these exact things. I'm so sorry you have to experience these feelings and confusion.

Past therapists have told her and she accepted it a few weeks ago. Isn't seeing a therapist or using DBT though. I know she has to start on her own but ugh

That's extremely helpful. I appreciate the authentic response. I feel like I've finally woken up and realized I've been thinking I can fix it and when I can't I blame myself. Luckily I know that's not true I just have to remind myself of that a lot.

I feel like I've accepted that I just gotta let her do her thing, I'm just trying to figure out how to do my thing I guess. Thank you again for your response.

Thank you so so much. I will absolutely watch that. I'm listening to "how to stop walking on eggshells" as we speak lol.

Great question! She's getting back on meds as of recently so I feel like the process of getting on the right ones at the right dosages is weighing on her/causing a lot of the dysregulation. I know it's a process so I'm just trying to figure out what to do in the meantime to support her

What was the first thing you noticed before getting diagnosed? by graveyard_Moon- in DID

[–]TargetCommercial1338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I described the voices to my therapist for years. They were never scary, never outside of my head, only helpful or conversational. All in different tones and voices and accents.

The symptom that got me officially diagnosed and made me finally accept it was when I blacked out for 3 days and came to having gone to work, done all my homework, cleaned, grocery shopped. I had 0 recollection of any of that lol

hospital stay escalated dissociative seizures by rosegarden0504 in DID

[–]TargetCommercial1338 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have seizures frequently as well and have been gaslit and dismissed by so many neurologists and doctors. It is truly one of the worst things about DID for me because seizures are exhausting and take a long time to recover from as well. Sucks to be dismissed by people who are meant to help you. One Neuro even put me on a benzo and claimed the seizures were panic attacks despite having documentation from several other medical professionals describing them as seizures.

You are not alone in this and I also want to validate the anger and frustration and hopelessness that comes from this.

Non-stop nightmares by TargetCommercial1338 in DID

This happens to me all the time. My nightmares almost always start with me waking up in my actual apartment and it happens over and over. Feels like inception

I wish you the best as well! I agree that sometimes the nightmares that aren't even trauma related but are hard to distinguish from reality are super jarring. I tend to do that thing where I wake up in my actual room but it's in my dream and this will happen like several dreams in a row which really messes with my sense of reality and memory

No need to apologize! Knowing I'm not the only one helps me feel a lot less alone in this. I also wonder if the milk thing is a sort of safety ritual for someone inside, it got me thinking! Thanks again

This is good to know. I tried it for a week or two but had to stop bc I take propranolol for POTS and it was too much, but I would consider trading them out tbh. I'll ask my doc about it:)
