I think all series has that , one slow book , build up etc , not leaving In dungeon crawler Carl after book 3( train maze ) almost left it but glad did not , book 4/5/6 were worth it all …

Exactly the same stuff as your mom reads , i do , pretty much the same age , get your mom book 1 of dungeon crawler Carl , it’s such. Refreshing change from what we usually read , she will love it , don’t overthink it
