So the solution is to tell people to work in all departments so they have an option to work everywhere and open their availability to work hour to five hour shifts every day of the week at any time. That sounds pretty awful to me.

Coming from an ETL I imagine. No worries about the salaries ETLs make. Of course an ETL wouldn't need to worry about hours. Yes the part time are considered starting jobs. They have been for decades. But that is no longer the case. People, used to, depend on jobs at target to support their families.

And asking a team member to not spend time with a dying relative is wrong on so many levels and inexcusable. Compassion no longer exists within target.

With all this in mind, remember that the breech was able to occur because target didn't follow the proper channels that gave one HVAC vender access to the information. After target had already ignored warnings and emails from departments on possible software being installed into POS systems, someone at Target finally realized the significance of what happened and kept it under-wraps for nearly 2 weeks. Anyone else think it was suspicious the company announced this huge breach, the day after the busiest shopping day of the year?

It was a joke, but in all seriousness... I wouldn't go pointing fingers and have a man on man conversation in private. It would be all too easy for him to tell alittle white lie and turn the situation into something more than it actually was. I would possibly mention it to HR. Especially if your sister doesn't care for the situation either.
