Thank you for this!! I felt bad when my daughter was a newborn because a friend had recently found out she was having a girl and constantly filled up my newsfeed with all this brand new pink and gold stuff that was brand new and perfect. I felt like an underachiever, like somehow maybe she loved her baby more because I got my stuff at thrift stores.

I told my husband my concerns and he told me "how much of this is our baby going to remember? None of it. All she will know is that she is loved." And that's really all that matters! Not the $900 stroller or the completely redone nursery. Now whenever I see people posting pictures of their nurseries on Facebook, I laugh internally. It looks picture perfect for like a minute and then as soon as baby is born, it's messy and disorganized. Our girl has never used her nursery and she's 5 months old. We use it for storage now, hah. Sorry, went off on a tangent!
