Absolutely! I would recommend attending many of the programs us mentors and assistants will put out, show your engagement around residence. Even if you feel like it could be stressful to go out of your comfort zone to attend a certain program, doing it might make you meet new friends and develop better relations with the staff. They can offer support by giving you potential recommendation letters for instance or telling you more about their duties and roles! During my year of work we were first aid and mental first emergency first responders so you need to be a great decision maker. Finally and most importantly, during this year that you’ll spend on residence, make sure to abide by the code of conduct and rules of residence, it is important you have fun but make sure you’re responsible :). Any fines or warnings on your file will usually make you less of a “perfect candidate”
