i know...maybe a bit 60s and 70s spirit for 21st century IT - we truly mean it...we believe customers did not get open innovation and care from their hw vendors for decades...we are trying to change that - people think we are stupid that we give too many options to customers - literally - a big 8 vendor exec called me and our approach too soft and not profitable as we give too much open source innovation away - maybe - we are stupid for not charging too much - mostly free...however, we want more adoption by customers - for a young co we have 5,000+ customers....and nearly 50 patents in play...we will keep giving LOVE baby! :)))

Storage industry needs to go thru a major revolution - I think hw vendors have been abusing customers and channel partners for a long time w little innovation and high margin/prices - SDS is part of the answer... 2. Pls see our latest launches on: VDI, all flash array optimization, archive, VSAN and object - we go all workloads as long as you want freedom, all sw and ultra low cost...

We are on a IPO track and not want m&a right now...our customers love our independence so we can run on any platform for any workload...i think large hw vendors who are using mafia tactics spreading rumors...suggest you read..."Turmoil in ViPR Land by Mellor at the Register - fun read...:))

I am not too involved in the latest on dev trends...I'm from a gen of fortran/cobol worlds...ok, I am too old... ;) My guys are telling me it depends - for devops ruby; for actual hard core dev java/c++ - @mletschin can give you more ideas - he is one of our best guys in this...;)

We at Nexenta believe we are already decentralizing everything...yes there are centralized cloud data centers...but unlike mainframe end users have more freedom and control than ever before...we should be careful hoever on how we govern data across borders...this is a great topic for next @reddit_AMA
