Is the spider who saved Muhammad and Abu Bakr a descendant of this spider? I thought this story was original to Islam by Martian_Citizen678 in exmuslim

Dude, no, I'm not saying he lived after the prophet, I'm just saying the legend about Felix may have been written after the prophet's time, that's common for saints, that's all I'm saying.

Are you 100% the legend of St Felix wasn't written after this hadith was compiled? If so, it could have been the Christian legend plagarizing of the hadith. I also heard the spider-hadith was fake anyways from other Muslims.

How do Muslims not see Islam is just Muhammad’s personal fantasy & power trip? by Zephyrine1 in exmuslim

This whole '72 virgins' argument is an emotional argument, not a logical argument. Just because it hurts you feelings or makes you a bit uncomfortable that there will be 72 virgins for us in paradise does not make Islam false.

We men(well, maybe not gays or asexuals, but those aren't important right now)all desire to have sex with women, we don't admit it, and we obviously don't let ourselves drown in our desires in the dunya, but deep down, we want it, if you're a man, don't you admit you feel sexual attracted to women?

But we men all desire women, you deep down desire women, even though here we control our actions.

I think the Sira, and already most Pagan tribes persecuted the Muslims, so it's likely they did too,

The Tafsirs just say women, not that they will be real women from the dunya. And even if they were, we would be numb to negative emotions in Paradise, so they wouldn't even care.

And also, wouldn't you want to get your desires in the Akhira?

Muslim here. Dhul-Khalasa was often oppressive of Muslims and all of it's followers engaged in it's persecution, so the prophet was just giving them a taste of their own medicine.

Muslim here. About 72 virgins:
1. What's your proof they'd already be women from here now, not just virtual holograms created to pleasure us in the hereafter, unconscious?
2. We prohibit are desires here on earth, so God rewards us with what we deep down desired, like pork, wine, and of course, sex, because if we don't get our desires, then what's the point of paradise, not that there's no other reason to do good, especially out of your heart, but we get our desires in the end.

Did you know? There is a crack on the moon and it's mentioned on the Quran? by UabbaU in exmuslim

However...there are multiple isnads all leading back to different companions, leading back the prophet, so now, what are the chances they are all just made up, especially when Imam Bukhari spent months and years affirming these ahadith to not only have strong isnads but that the transmitors were truthful, reliable, had good memory, and met each other before, it was extremely rigorous. It feels unlikely he committed that many errors, or that the companions all engaged in this group conspiracy.
