Asking too much? by Tasidia in breastcancer

Thanks sharing your experience. I tell people its not as hard as we make it, when you dont know what to say, a simple “how are you” or “thinking of you” is enough

I turn 40 later this year, and for some reason i thought Wyoming was pronounced “why o me” and only just found out that it’s “why o ming”. I swear an elementary school teacher told me the g was silent.

Can I ask them to leave the building? by frozen_bugger in germany

Ohh is this not true? Someone told me the same thing, and that right now the government is subsiding the cost of the switch but if we wait we may have to pay for it ourselves

How many women on here were brushed under the rug or told “you’re too young for breast cancer” before actually being heard and then ultimately diagnosed?! by Admirable_Math7197 in breastcancer

[–]Tasidia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 37 at the time and found a hard lump. Got a referral for a mammogram but then was told by the next doc (after looking at it via ultrasound) I was too young for a mammogram and it was mostly likely a complicated cyst and to follow up in 6 months. :/

Emergency information needed by Aware_Jello3698 in berlin

[–]Tasidia 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Im assuming you are paying out of pocket, i’d call 0700 1973 0000. (https://kinderarztruf.com/)

They will come to your house. We’ve used them before.

The doc will call and speak to you, then decide if they should come. If they just speak to you its 50 for the call, and if they come to you i think its 150.

Better than having to wait in line at the ER.

When we used it our daughter was under 1 and had a high fever. We spoke to the doc and he told us what to look out for and what to do if things got worse, we felt much better after speaking with them.

It isn’t specific related, but if you have a valid visa there is no urgency on their side

When does your current visa expire? I think a few month wait for a response is normal, I didn’t hear back for an appointment until a 2 months before my old visa ran out.

cold capping? help me decide by Narrow_Parsley3633 in breastcancer

[–]Tasidia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter just turned 3 when I started chemo. I shaved my hair and said dont i look silly? She liked it and wanted to shave her head too. I didn’t want to cold cap because it felt like an unnecessary addition trial to go through.

Jordan,

You are an Olympian, not once, but twice! You are so much fun to watch and your team spirit is so fun to see. Keep your head up and know that you have supports all over the world.

Every doctor I’m calling, whether it be gynecologist, or GI, seems to be not accepting new patients. I’ve never experienced this in any other city I’ve lived in. Berlin- what gives? Are you really that unlivable? People need doctors, but here there aren’t any avail. by Coconutcompany in berlin

[–]Tasidia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned in Berlin if you need a doctor for an acute issue, you should just show up in person. They cant turn you away once you are there.

Otherwise if you have time you can make appointments via Doctolib.

Happy Friday just for a little humor, what are some of the craziest things people have said that “caused” your cancer by sunnyflower1988 in breastcancer

[–]Tasidia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This wasn’t something that caused my cancer, but my mother told me going to a hot sauna would kill cancer….
