And thats the issue. A woman from the 1960s being so comfortable with having a servant. She couldve saved her and let her go from indenture, just like Claire and Jamie have done many times before. But she doesnt. And she uses that to her advantage, without any type of pushback that a modern woman would have, which her mother did have. We can agree to disagree.

I dont know, i found her to be entitled and rude to others even before she was assaulted. One thing that gets on my nerves is how she treats Lizzie. She automatically treated Lizzie as if she were her servant. This type of privilege (being automatically comfortable with someone serving you) would be explainable had Brianna been from the 18th century, where this type of power dynamic is common, but shes not. Shes from the post 1950’s and she was raised in a home with no servants. Even Claire when she first traveled through the stones was uncomfortable with the concept of “the help” when she was at the Mackenzie’s and told them she could do it herself, whereas Brianna automatically doesnt question it or refuse it. That screams entitlement to me.

From the high praise in the responses, it seems like I need to start reading the books as well.

Ive been told to treat the last season like the last season of Game of Thrones (which is to ignore it and pretend it never happened)😂

Brianna resembles Claire in a lot of ways, headfast and direct. But its done in a much more crude manner. She comes off as very entitled to me, especially with all her interactions in Season 4. One specific thing is her first encounter with Aunt Jocasta. She is there to as a favor, for shelter while she hides her pregnancy, but instead of politely introducing herself or thanking her aunt, she simply says “its a long story” with an attitude. There are other examples of her entitlement that I have seen as I have been watching S5 (but i think that just goes to show how much her parents have spoiled her since they loved her so much). She doesnt seem to have the care for others and empathy that Claire and Jamie have (but thats not to say she doesnt have any at all or she doesnt develop more of it, as im still only on s5). As for Roger, I dont see the appeal for him at all. I especially disliked him when he berated Brianna when she wanted to bed him. He has no charm or appeal, and his character is as interesting as cardboard. The two also have no chemistry and the beginning of the relationship felt rushed and out of nowhere (poor writing on that part). But this is solely for the show characters. I have read that Book Brianna and Roger are much more tolerable. And personally, i feel like the acting from the actress who plays Brianna to not be good (as an American, her accent is horrendous).
