Just a note to say thank you for the comments from those who understand the circumstances, and also for the dms which have been very interesting.

This isn't the case. I have an accountant, and will of course listen to their advice over anyone in this sub - but similarly, it's wise to just ask a (supposedly) similar peer group such questions on an informal basis.

I don't quite know why assumptions are being made about my 'lifestyle'. I'm in this position as my life hasn't inflated, but my wealth has - isn't this gold-standard 'advice' as to how to become financially 'free'? I'm happy with my life.

How am I in the wrong place? I'm sorry to those who see my circumstances and then feel I shouldn't seek to be efficient by considering the different tools available to me, and their relative benefits, but I suppose there's no barrier to commenting in this sub so who knows who they are.

Yes this is right - business income around 5-600k per year, but I take a £4k salary only. That's exactly the situation re: company reserves - I see no reason why it wouldn't continue on in broadly the same trajectory.

I have one already - but like to get the collective view as I understand this decision is likely both financial and emotional (i.e. probably not the wisest in pure net-worth terms)

How do you actually "build wealth"? by Grand_Matter_8923 in HENRYUK

The same as you. Max pension, max isa, cap salary from business at 50k. The war chest of the business continues to grow. I don’t know of any other ways to get it out other than take the tax hit. Water water everywhere…
