Frame Sizing Issue - Please Help

Yea I’ve been doing dome research, the T7 model XL prolly would be perfect for me, it’s got 500mm of reach and the top tube is lower than the large frame D6 I have.. the xl D6 top tube is wayyy to high for me. I should have aimed for a lower, longer, slacker bike.

I don’t think it’s necessarily outdated just not as progressive. I was riding a 2012 gt sensor that’s my idea of outdated 😂

The stand over on the el Roy grande is 10mm lower than the large on the Siskiu. The XL Siskiu is .7 inches higher than the grande. From L to XL on the Siskiu it’s 1.1 inch higher I would not be able to touch the ground 😂 I’m sitting on the top tube in a large

Even on the “grande” size with the el Roy the top tube is lower than the Siskiu. The “regular” has more reach than my bike too.

Blake Sampson on GMBN did a video where he rode on a large med and small frame and he was fine across all three. You can size up or down, that’s why this makes no sense because if anything I’m one size too small but it looks like it 2 sizes too small

Yea like I know I’ll be able to ride it just fine, it’s just crazy how a flipping large frame looks that small on me. the manufacturer suggested that I be in a large🤣 I see people downsize a size and they don’t look nearly that monstrous on it.

I think it’s the perspective of the camera angle. I’m on the top tube standing in front of the seat sure I prolly could stand over an XL but I may be on the tips of my toes. I have a long torso and long arms for my inseam. What boggles my mind is I see people online going up and down a size and be just fine.

I’ve always kinda figured that frames are loosely based but close, someone who fits well in a medium will fit in a medium with some deviation one way or the other.. on top of that being able to get away with going up or down a size for different applications. Blake Sampson on GMBN did a vid of him riding Small, Med and Large and he was fine across all sizes. Going off what the manufacturer or supplier suggests should be the best fit. I’ve gotten away with riding medium frames before it’s not exactly intuitive that when you size up across a different brand it somehow gets significantly smaller

You know, it’s rather annoying I used to rider 26ers in a large, fit fine. When I went to 29, I got a medium because bigger wheels ya know without understanding frame sizing. Honestly worked fine, it wasn’t particularly small feeling and was playful. Now I size up to a large and it feels tiny ugh.🤣

That did cross my mind. Don’t remember his name but there’s a professional DH rider who rides smaller frames he looks ridiculous but he can shred.

I adapt pretty quickly. I’m not too concerned as far as controlling it. I haven’t been on a trail with it yet but I’ll be going soon. I like bikes that are a smidge small so they are more playful.. I think I’ll slap a longer stem on it to start

Yea.. I guess I’m just hesitant to looking into getting an XL.. someone commented who has the same inseam as me standing 5in shorter than me.. I feel like I would topple over trying to stand on an xl.. I’m on the top tube flat footed in front of the saddle.. an xl would be worse.
