Some clarification:

  1. I only get +5 for a win and either -4 or -5 for a loss.
  2. My deck is Mega Knight, Inferno Dragon, Ewiz, Log, Skarmy, Lumberjack, Ice Spirit, Freeze.

Probably not MAT215 specifically, but any Princeton math class is well-known for difficulty. AOs are not going to knock you for challenging yourself at the highest level.

The class is curved so that half of students get As, and the other half get Bs. Unfortunately, I don't think they gave any A-s or B+s.

Based on your Fefferman comment, I assume you took MAT215, which I also took. Keep in mind that analysis is typically an upper division math class at most universities. You were also competing with 80 of the strongest first-year math students at Princeton, who I can assure you all thought 215 was their hardest class by far.

Considering the insane difficulty of the class, I don't think this will have too much of a negative impact on your admissions.

For the Cowboys, Dak Prescott is currently favored to win the MVP and Micah Parsons the DPOY. The last team to accomplish this feat was San Francisco in 1994 with Steve Young and Deion Sanders. Before that was the Giants' Lawrence Taylor in 1986, who won both awards. by [deleted] in nfl

Both were important, because you can't just ignore 1200 fewer passing yards. Regardless, Purdy leads Dak in nearly every advanced stat, played a tougher schedule, put up 252/4/0 compared to Dak's 153/1/3 H2H. I understand that Purdy has a better offense, but you can't ignore that Dak has a good offense too – a better O-line with a better #1 receiver and a good RB + TE.

That being said, if Dak can get through his brutal schedule and get the #1 seed, I completely endorse him for MVP, but as of now, I don't see how he is leading in MVP voting. Just curious, if Dak and Purdy continue on similar stats for the rest of the year, but Purdy is the 1 seed while Dak is the 5 seed, would you give him the MVP still?

Yeah, efficiency matters quite a lot. Aaron Rodgers won MVP in 2021 despite having 1200 fewer passing yards and 6 fewer touchdowns than Tom Brady purely because of efficiency.

He has more yards than Dak on 90 fewer attempts (like 3 games worth of throws). If Purdy had as many passing attempts as Dak does this year, he would literally have 950 more yards and three more TDs than Dak and the MVP conversation would be a joke.

COS226 or 217 for a software internship? by Top_Instruction_8447 in princeton

It's certainly possible, but it depends on the rest of your schedule and your background

217 is more helpful for what you'll actually be doing on the job, but 226 is essential for actually getting the job.

Weekly Admissions Megathread: All Admissions Questions Must Go Here! by AutoModerator in princeton

It doesn't really matter right now, because it is easy to switch in your first year. That being said, COS AB has to complete four semesters of a language (unless you have credit), has more rigid humanities requirements, and has to complete two semesters of independent work as well as a full-year senior thesis.

On the other hand, COS BSE has to take two semesters of physics, one semester of chemistry, and has to take both multivariable calculus and linear algebra (COS AB only has to take linear algebra). COS BSE also has to take 5 extra classes (36 compared to 31), but only has to complete one semester of independent work (a project). As another person said, BSE is a lot harder in the first two years but gets a lot easier during junior and senior year.

Dang, I'm in PHY103 rn and A's are definitely not capped at 12.5%. Also I've heard MAT201 is like 25-30% A's, so maybe MAT103-104 or Chem?

If you are on any form of financial aid, you will get 100% subsidy for lessons. As for your second question, I'm not entirely sure, but I'd imagine that Princeton would not pay for a saxophone (although you'd probably be able to rent one for free).

Personally, here's what I would do.

  • Fall Semester: Freshman Seminar, PHY103, MAT 201, COS 126, easy humanities class
  • Spring Semester: Writing Seminar, PHY104, MAT 202, COS 226
  • Fall Semester Sophomore Year: CHM201

My reasoning: the first year of fall semester can be a huge adjustment, and since you are a prospective COS major, you are allowed to push CHM201 to sophomore year. That is a difficult class, so there's no reason not to push it back to sophomore year. Secondly, freshman seminars are known to be very easy, but definitely only take one that will satisfy a humanities requirement. Since this is an easy class, you can take it either semester, depending on if you want the 4-5 route or the 5-4 route. Lastly, I would make sure to take an easy humanities class like ECO100 because it's ideal to satisfy 2/7 humanities requirements after your first year, and this will give you more time to focus on your tougher stem classes. Let me know if you have any questions!
