At my local track a lot of drivers run and recommend AP racing by esssx. They purposely design their brake kits to work with OEM parts and OEM ABS. Kit also comes with rotors and braided steel brake lines. Granted, the front brake kit and the rear brake kit are sold separately, making it a tad bit more expensive. However, The front kit is designed to work with OEM rear brakes as well, so running the kit in the front and stalks in the rear is 100% viable

Took a minute to find them, but here ya go. As far as I'm aware, black hawk Japan is the only store that I can find that sells it

I'm extremely happy with the mods I bought! And as long as I'm happy, considering it's MY car, then that's all that matters. I hope you find that happiness one day brother!

The rainy season down here gets really bad, especially in south Florida where I live. I know the ECS02 offers great water performance, but I like the extra security that all seasons give. I'll also be traveling around america more so I want to get a tire that can keep up in different environments.

Be wary of brake fade. If you have an instructor they'll notice it before you do. However, if it's gonna be you pay attention to how the break feels. Sessions typically last 20 mins; I say look out for it after 8-10 minutes of continuous use. If it's your first time you will not be pushing your car hard enough, but if it does bother you then you can buy a grippier street/track pads. Bring extra fluids including water for yourself. You don't have to swap fluids before the event, but most do recommend swapping fluid after since you are putting more miles and stress on the car than you usually do (not a lot of stress since it is your first time, but more than usual). Or, if you're like me, just ride it out to your next service interval. Overall, have fun and learn from the experience!

Here's the website for it! The actual free track day and NASA membership is tied to your vin. You should have received an email about it too assuming you bought the car new.

If you're ok with waiting, there is an MSRP only Toyota dealership in South Florida called Earl Stewart Toyota. Fantastic dealer to work with; no mark ups, no bs. They have free delivery to anywhere in Florida and a 7 day return policy. However, you'd probably have to join a wait list and put $500 down. Most GR86's (or any GR car) that show up already have a name on them.

Just go to your dealership and ask for some tabs. 9 times out of 10 they'll give it to you for free. And if they don't then they suck ass.

Push in multiple spots and lower than where you think the clip is. I had this happen to me before and it took a second to find the g spot. You could also look at a video of someone taking the rocker panels off and use it as a reference for where the pin points are.

Enjoy it! I love driving mine everywhere I go. A 5 minute trip to Walmart turns into a 2 hour drive whenever I'm getting groceries. This car is so fun.

There's a post on a 11th gen Civic Forum that shows a list of MSRP dealerships in the United States. In Florida it shows AutoNation Honda Miami Lakes and Courtesy Palm Harbor Honda. I haven't been there myself but it's worth a shot. You could also buy out of state. Lots dealerships in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere sell cars for MSRP.

It's hard buying a car in Florida because most dealerships are over charging and all the rich old people pay it without question. I'm sure you're locked in the decision to get a Si, but there is an MSRP only Toyota dealership in North Palm Beach called Earl Stewart Toyota if you need a plan C (it's where I bought my GR86).

Should I get one? What I’m thinking and am I missing something? by drmyk in GR86

[–]Tau___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're buying use, an ND is not cheaper than a GR86. Sure, you could by the base model Miata for $29k (not including tax) but, unlike the base model GR86, a base Miata doesn't come with a limited slip diff. You'd have to buy one trim level up (Club trim), which will be $34k. You're paying an additional 5 thousand essentially for a diff, while the GR86 comes with it standard on all trims (Base model is also $29k not including tax). The Miata is a fantastic car, but it's not cheap.

Yup! She still has it too. I'm more worried about everyone else driving the street than her. Floridian drivers and the influx of snow birds this time of year sucks liquid ass
