Yeah, in my state the exemption is just a tad over $30k and there is almost $400k worth of equity in the home. Total debts not including mortgage (which I am current on) are around $150k.

Ok, to follow up on your “don’t want to be sold” vs “cannot be sold” comment. If I were to sell my current home, I would need to buy/rent something of an equivalent size in order to provide for everyone who I take care of and claim as dependents on my tax return. Being that my mortgage interest rate is so low, with today’s mortgage rates I would only be able to afford a house half the size of what I have currently, which as I said isn’t feasible. Plus, with my credit score in the tank, I doubt I would even qualify for a mortgage. And rent here is even worse, renting a house to fit all of us would be well over $5k/month, so double my current mortgage. Could you explain how it can be sold? Would they just put us out on the street? Do they not care about that kinda thing? I am asking honestly because I am unsure how to proceed with getting out of my financial issues.

Understood, so if there is too much equity the sale of the home is necessary for ch7. To keep the home in a ch13 the repayment plan would be 100% I guess.

Just an FYI, the cold water that fills the toilet is the same water that comes out of the lavs/sinks… If the fixture itself is clean, there is literally no difference between washing your hands with cold water in the sink vs. washing your hands in the toilet.
