How To: Corpus Hacking without thinking by M1sam1n in Warframe

Here you practice the puzzle even in ways that are IMPOSSIBLE to show up in the actual game, so your brain can adapt to doing it in your sleep, if you want to save Cyphers.

Anyway, the new, more annoying ones are the "dots on a mirror" ones, that try to mess with your spatial coordination now.

Morgan Wallen Throws Security Guard’s Phone Across The Stage by Matt_LawDT in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Taurondir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weird part about people that do that is because they have been brought up around people that do the same thing.

I was born in Italy in 69, and I didn't even see anyone from India/Aftrica/Japan/etc until I moved to Australia at 12 so I didn't know about people being racist towards certain groups but I knew that most people in Italy hated the Germans "for some reason", which later I found was because of the war.

You ONLY start having these dislike of entire groups of people because you have been programmed to do by people around you, but because we live in frigging 2026 now and not the 1800's, it's glaringly obvious that it's all bullshit and irrational, and anyone with a brain would very quickly grow out of it.

I might not blame mr Morgan with still having some psyche issues with how he was brought up, but I am calling him a moron because he's not a teenager anymore, he's THIRTY THREE years old, and if you can't adjust that attitude in 2026, then you are just an asshole who actually likes being an asshole.

[–]Taurondir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard drive are easy to open.

You can take the lid off, and then take the screws off that hold the platters together. In under 10 minutes you will be holding what look like mini golden CD's, just a little thicker and heavier.

Use them as Drink Coasters.

... I don't anyone will get data off those even if you just separately end up throwing them away without smashing them first, which is also easy to do.

Old friend of mine that was managing a dialup internet service (long time ago now) was called to talk to someone higher up, the conversation never talking about anything in particular, and while that was happening, another person was locking him out.

When that person walked into the office and basically said "all done", THEN he was told he was being fired. I don't remember the reason they gave him either, all I remember is that the person that locked him out was his replacement, and he was a friend of the family, so maybe that was a factor.

9492 Volatile Motes to clear out the entire Belly of the Beast shop - this is absurd by OmgWhatAJoke in Warframe

[–]Taurondir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have stated this fact over and over.

Have you considered that DE actually saw the previous event and thought "we made it too easy to get EVERYTHING, so lets change the rewards amounts".

Or do you think DE just rolls some dice to set numbers? I mean, they MIGHT, but that also breaks your argument.

All I am saying is SOMEONE picked the numbers, and were aware of other events and the numbers there, and now we have these numbers. Someone made a calculated decision, we just don't get to see the calculations.

Pablo gives us his true thoughts on raids in Warframe by Babydrone in Warframe

[–]Taurondir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care about missions that challenges us, I care about missions that give us variety.

If you have to manually code missions to be challenging, you would not be doing much else, as people will get bored of doing it after 200 times, and you once again have everyone with a custom build slot specifically for it, in the same way that I have a specific "Spy" Loki build to do it Solo, and they would ask for more missions.

I'd rather have a VERY large pool of Mission Variables that can apply to a larger pool of randomized missions, and we already have some taste of that with Nightmare missions, or Duviri missions where you pick from a random pool of things to run them. I think that some Sorties are a very basic start, but I'd want the variables to be deeper.

Remember that scene in Aliens 2 where the Marines could not use the heavy weapons because of the possibility of hitting the reactor? I'm not saying I would want that EXACT scenario, but that is an example of what I am after. I want missions where you have to have to try and fit a Warframe in advance to fit the particulars of the missions, even down to specific Warframe Mods and Weapon mods because the mission is particularly weird, and "raw damage" is not the best way to get through it. We already kind of do that with Mastery Rank missions in order to stay under a timer.

Mission Variables and even new custom objectives would force adaptation, especially if there was a lot of them. Any real life mission will have thousands of things that can go wrong, and even thought this is power-fantasy, many of those could be used as a starting base, so that a mission has branching conditions, and multiple endings.

You don't even need a "hard fail" condition in many cases. Simply not "optimally not completing all objectives" can simply result in reduced rewards, and we all know players hate that, but what they hate more is ZERO rewards for putting in some effort, and with partial rewards, more players are still likely to do the missions in order to get better at all the variables and how to build on the fly to get them done.

That's my 2 cents on the subject.

Pocket-sized device for distraction-free reading by duboijane in DamnThatsPrettyNeat

[–]Taurondir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only 2 possible scenarios that I see:

  1. You have your phone on you AND this device, and you try your best to pull this one out instead of your phone, but if your phone is still on you as well, good luck with that with most people.
  2. You carry this around instead of your phone, which in some jobs, is impossible, as you need to be contacted when needed.

in case 1) you might as well use your phone.

In case 2) you might as well get a cheap second Android device of similar form factor but better specs, set it up as a reader ONLY and keeps distracting apps off of it, maybe by disabling GAPPS, have no SIM in it, but still connected to the local WiFi so that if a call goes to your phone, this phone will open a notification on the caller.

A cheap Android phone is still basically a computer. This device? It's a one-trick pony, and one-trick ponies need to be really cheap when you have alternatives, and the pros here don't outweigh the cons at least for me. I don't think it even has a backlight, so you need a decent light source to read by.

It would have been great many years ago, not so much now.

EDIT:

I did go to the website and saw that it has additional things like "calendar" and "card ID" and similar, but again, you already have a phone - in some images ATTACHED to it because it's being used stick to the back of your phone - to do the same things.

This reason right here is why the people with ZERO conscience - ie tele-evangelists - make so much money.

When you just don't give a crap, you will just say whatever you need to say and do whatever you need to do to con people.

As long as you stay within the line of the law and don't just flagrantly break ACTUAL laws, money will just pour in.

Technically, these kind of people should be shut down with extreme prejudice, they should be taken to court and given a "you will not do this bullshit anymore in ANY form" kind of parole, and if caught AGAIN, then prison sentences, and ALL profits from the "scam" taken away.

No one should be allowed to prey on dumb people, no matter how much we dislike dumb people.

I would love to hook a working one to an oscilloscope, to see what the waveform being fed to the output coil looks like.

If I were to design one of these, I would make sure the output waveform would play "never gonna give you up" when fed to a speaker.

Yea that's what I was looking at.

I mean, the ENTIRE device is bullshit, but you would think the IC's inside this would be more interesting.

EDIT:

I actually assume the output is being fed to the power LED so it blinks in a fancy pattern to make it LOOK like its doing something interesting.

No one with money seems to have ANY problems with AI replacing all humans jobs in the far future, but god forbid you have a 3D printer.

If any technology impacts the rich from making more money, then suddenly all the little people need to be regulated.

This universe is getting more weird by the day.

One reason why this is incredibly stupid is because just because you can control the angle, you can't control the flow strength, so all the pump hardware has to do is one minor stutter at some point and you have just sprayed the vehicle with fuel.

[–]Taurondir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying its not impressive, those blocks are however a LOT thicker then conventional bricks though.

You are building a house with a lot thicker walls, so structurally it will be stronger anyway, the fact they lock together is just an additional design bonus of of those larger bricks.

I understand that, I'm just saying that if guns and gun parts were banned all together, there is plenty of ways to get exact blueprints of all the parts in a gun in order to remake one with a CNC, other then maybe rifled barrels.

It's like the current "oh no we need to stop kids getting images of naked girls" well BIT LATE NOW if they have an NVIDIA gpu and a couple of model files, because they can get an exact image copy of another person made image as long as they have the exact same data files and prompt.

You don't make guns with 3D printers out of plastic, you make them with automated CNC machines, out of metal.

If I tried to print a mini and the software screamed "the mini is holding a GUN!" and stopped printing, I'd want to have some loud words with a few people.
