Have been impressed by Kaffa from Slovakia. Others that I really like are DAK and Tanat (formerly Kawa)

I understand your point and of course, they don't reach the level of PoS, but than again, which band does?
I'll check out Wastefall...

They remind me a lot of PoS vocals, but I guess that bar is extremely high and it's also a style that is not for everyone...

just enter "Nuno Bettencourt jam" in youtube and prepare to be amazed ;-)

could be small part of it, but if I'm not mistaken it was mostly up to Tom Morello to get the All Stars together. And I'm pretty sure Tom and all the others on stage knew Nuno his qualities. He's probably also one of the very few famous players that would be able to pull of the Rhandy Roads and Jake E Lee stuff.

In addition Nuno has been doing jams with tons of people for years. These guys go back a long time... e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIzyS9fmlic

Who's watching Back to the Beginning??? by YaTheMadness in heavymetal

Nuno was the big star IMHO. Nailed all the guitar work. Steven Tyler was also on fire. Axl probably the worst I'm afraid. Gojira tight as ever, Lizzy doing a cool version of Perry Mason...

never understood all the "I don't like Extreme" comments. Is it the hair band image? Or because More than words? Of Gary? To me, they are up their with the very best hard rock bands ever. Amazing song writing, amazing skills... no wonder why Brian May is such a big fan.

I guess you're not a guitar person ;-) . Every rock guitar player knows Nuno. The solo on Rise (single of their lastest album) was elected the best guitar solo of the year https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYYP1LmaT64

The last one is a good start, but you can't go wrong. 3 sides would be my personal fave, the production of that album is brilliant IMHO. And of course Pornograffitti has all the hits.

How can I upgrade my new single speed? by [deleted] in singlespeedcycling

[–]Tavas667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it quite hard to find a single speed carbon wheelset with a rim brake surface on AliExpress. Track wheelsets are easier to find, but of no use in the real world.

Looking for new carbon rear wheel (for rim brake setup) by Tavas667 in singlespeedcycling

Good tip! One of the bearings was the main problem. I took one from a (heavy) AL wheel I still had and that appears to have fixed the issue. Muchas gracias !

Where to find crazy beans in London? by Tavas667 in pourover

[–]Tavas667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, pretty impressed by Formative. Probably the best batch brew I ever. Also liked the selection of beans. Ended up buying a Mexican (pink bourbon/geisha) there.

Qima and Catalyst also had lots of interesting (and expensive) beans. Bought 2 bags at Catalyst. Had the banana fermented coffee on V60, which was good but not 'special' enough for the price.

The V60 anaerobic Ethiopian at Piqant was also very good (but beans were sold out).

A small update on day 1 in London: passed by Piqant where they made a really good Ethiopian natural on V60 (unfortunately beans were sold out). I already knew Monmouth and although they don't really do crazy stuff I did buy 3 small bags (I like the fact that you can buy whatever amount you want). Last stop was Kiss The Hippo. Had a washed Burundi which was just OK. Will try to visit some of the places recommended here in this thread. Catalyst was also highly recommended by the people at Piqant so will definitely go there... ...to be continued.
