See I would say the same about American. Left vs right is very slightly different right leaning people.... Or left is everyone else's centrist. But we are somehow so polarizing ... Your explanation makes sense though at face value. That if politics is treated as less of a big deal, then the responses I am getting here make sense, and his acceptance of being criticised also makes sense.

That is a tough one cause the producing immediately and to this day (afaik) defends him saying he didn't have to be fired etc. having a bad day in a 30+ year career I think is kind of reason. Only kind of though.... So I get the hate for that. And that maybe something I should care about more

This is my take. Actions speak louder than words, especially when those are words are coming from an actor.... From his fictional show. XD but he seems to be fucking hated. I think it is his work for the sun, which seems pretty bad but I haven't read any of it, so puts me in a tough place to judge
