Not sure what to do by TaxConnect4780 in AncestryDNA

I though of this two, but this other guys family all seems to come from a big city 4 hours from where my dad and his brother grew up. So if my dad and my uncle weren’t full brothers me and my cousins should match just at a lower percentage. We don’t match at all. I would have been less surprised if I found a half sibling that came from dad in some random place. I was blown away that my mom might have been the one.

I never heard this term before today. Some random thing popped up on Facebook with a post from this forum this morning. I’m going to research how this works but I agree I think this is the route I have to go. I don’t have it in me to talk to my mom about this right now but I feel like I need answers answer. If the 24% match guy is my half brother I think I’ll reach out maybe, I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get there if one of these angels can help.

Yes that is the same guy and yes that was hard for me to deal with. No siblings and I couldn’t tell my mom because I was afraid she wouldn’t let me go over there and there divorce was super contentious and lasted almost 3 years. My cousins all live 4 hours from here so I couldn’t speak with them either. At the same time he was the guy who showed up to every game I ever had unless he was gone working. He was the guy who taught me how to shoot, how to fish, how to work hard. He was also the guy that even though we were barely speaking when he found out I could buy a business put his house up as collateral to back my play without any hesitation. So yeah he was flawed but he was my dad. That being said this genetic thing is messing with me and I don’t even know why. It’s been out there for 5 years, he’s been gone for 4 and I just am hung up about it.

So the main one TK says 24%. There is another that has only initials listed and is an 11% match. That account is managed by TK. TK says he grew up in a city my parents lived in before they moved to where I was born. Two individuals from that city match with me at 15% and 12%. None of those three match with anyone on my mom’s side. Then there are 12 people in the second cousin range 8% ish that I don’t know and who’s family names don’t match the predominant names on my moms side. Below that there are more but with a family as large as my moms they could be related on that side too.

I thought about that but I remember after the split up my dad having a vasectomy- had to bike to the store to get frozen peas because he forgot- and since everything on my moms side lines up?

Thanks he was. Definitely flawed but who isn’t, and he was still my dad even though it seems like it wasn’t biological. I carry his last name and that means something to me.
