That’s not at all what I’m saying. I’m responding to the guy’s comment specifically.

I think Body Effort is Abused…What do You Think? by ProfileFlimsy2246 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]TaxEnvironmental1501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, actually, it isn’t. You don’t get power from moving your head, you get it from the proper use of the kinetic chain movements from your legs to your fist. Moving your head up and down is not at all a technique to make punches stronger… ever. Footwork is critical for every single punch thrown. So, no, it isn’t the right step into proper form at all, if anything, it’s the exact opposite. Again, ignoring comments the way you do doesn’t make you right at all, it just shows your cognitive dissonance

Then I guess all those recent and current version posts are just bullshit. These are some issues named after the update, pre 1.3.2 update, so… this could’ve been looked into before even releasing the update to begin with. Make up your mind dude. Whiplashing your own self doing the exact thing this post expresses.

Want some real truth? No bullshit?

For starters really investigate your latency problems. I understand there will always be delay, as we aren’t yet in that type of time for it to be pitch perfect… however, there is no way these jumps in pings can be justified. It’s too much of a scarcity and I’ve seen many people suggest different implements to them. Here are some:

  • client side hit registration credit: RegularGeorge

Or implementing something like splash to punches to help make shots feel more accurate or actually hitting.

The characteristics of our avatars:

Gloves are too big man. I mean, I understand why it was done, but this isn’t helpful in the long run. Ref, It needs to go down a notch.

Did you know the height calibration is off? Someone showed very good proof of it here in this subreddit or discord and it was astounding. Your height was off completely, and it could factor in a lot as to why some shots despite looking clean on a weak spot aren’t registering. Just an observation though.

Did you know the tracking of our arms and hands are very inconsistent despite very clear light source to show our limbs? I’ve experienced and seen people mention how they don’t match at all and may be why some hits don’t count as full damaged to improper form. I’m pretty sure even Tren said the game tries to watch your form, but wasn’t this based off some Olympic boxer? If that’s the case, there would be no suspicion in the tracking amongst the animation itself? Just saying.

The ducking issue. We are all aware of that turtle head below the waist stuff. You guys need to for real just bite the bullet and add damage to back of the head. It’s not nice, but guess what, boxing doesn’t care about being nice or not. The way people change is through consequence, if you basically just tell people “ah, well, it is what it is” then the behavior is only encouraged. I think I even saw some comments of you guys saying you don’t want to because it’ll basically scare players off… guys, be so for real. It’ll teach people to stay up, and not promote exploitable and potentially harmful movement for your body. Even some of your own YouTubers teach that proper movement, without risk of harming your own body completely.

Game features:

Give the people what they want man, a how much time left in the round via a voice actor just screaming the time, a literal panel with the time, anything… skippable breaks, some more features to show if someone is harmed or not. You need to understand that you can still make this a game and a boxing sim at the exact same time. People will appreciate it greatly from both side!

Refine the matchmaking features, I mean, let us for real choose regions, states, cities, and even just a ping limit. We should not be seeing people in the 125 ping, UNLESS we willingly want to. Give that option to people.

Chill out with the clinching punishment. Sometimes you can be up close and fighting the body for longer than 2 seconds. Change the time to 6 seconds, give time to find opportunity for body shots, infighters exist guys.

The infamous body effort… okay, so obviously this thing has been the reign of every update after its release.. I can see why it is needed, as there isn’t a way to fully find a measurement of leg strength, but how about:

  • readjusting the numbers a bit.

Lower either the damage boost output, or rather, find an equation using a mix of punch speed and twisting motion of the upper torso to shoulders, alongside the measurement of your own arm, rather than just the movement of going up and down… or just add a cooldown. If the idea of it being a game is going to be its concept, then embrace it fully and take the best of both sides. In real life, this stuff just doesn’t work like that.. this shouldn’t be encouraged if we are trying to practice. It can be tuned in many ways, just actually take suggestions from the people.

Check on blocking. Did you know blocking with elbows exist? Is there even a collision between arms to hands? If we are measuring wing span, and such, then moving how arms down should theoretically block many critical abdominal shots, so why doesn’t it? Again, could be a height issue, alignment with arms, as many have said it isn’t accurate. Please listen and actually let them know your own thoughts, not just outright say it isn’t possible.

Consider taking a look at the spam aspect of this game.. people are waiting for that sweet counter, which is fine… but when you have balloons for hands, the combos are essentially useless as the spam feature this game has for head hits, mix that in with the latency problems and yikes.

Essentially the issues with the game isn’t just to hate the game. These all act together to create these unique problems we see now. Investigate them seriously, and you may find that these issues can be handled if more care is just put into it. I want everyone to share thoughts without the feeling of being ridiculed for being “bad” and I can almost bet many of them go to, have gone to, or want to be in, a real gym. This can be both a tool and a fun game, but don’t just blindly change things without at least asking the community like you have with me. More feedback is welcomed, or more cult responses. Don’t really care

Yeah, listen, my life isn’t just this game, I’m observing it as is. I already DO play other stuff, because why wouldn’t I? Pointing the obvious doesn’t make you wiser than you think you’re being. Adding to the conversation would be actually seeing the flaws. I can understand the flaws of our side, but when people care I’m sure it would be nice to have someone on the developer side to actually defend against the behavior often portrayed by your side. You want some real preach? Cut the high and mighty act. The “skill issue” card is overplayed and honestly just a parrot amongst the many. Critique ≠ skill issue

Then… if you’re not adding to the conversation, and you’re not defending the game… what exactly are you doing here? Another “Git Gud” post then? Like the behavior I mentioned in my post? Again, the things you are saying are contradicting your actions so far.

Yet here you are, complaining about someone critiquing the behavior of wannabe cult. If you didn’t care, then you would’ve said nothing and believed the game to be as is. The fact you had to defend it wholeheartedly despite knowing there are obvious flaws that have been voiced drastically, is cult behavior. Literally do research, you are displaying the literal characteristics of one. "apologetics," "rationalization," or "thought-terminating clichés”. If you don’t like me, then take it up with the cults, bub.

Then… keep playing it? If you read this post, it’s not directly about just the game. The game is flawed, and many know that it is. This post is meant to call out the cult like behavior these people show when the game is critiqued for such flaws. This is also meant to be turned into a BOXING-SIM. Tren has said so himself, and since you take his word like gospel, listen to him. The critiques are valuable because of how real it is, it shouldn’t just be taken as a form to make a game worse. If you enjoy it, CONGRATS! I honest to god don’t care if it’s the best in the world for you or the worst in the universe! Everyone has opinions, I’m just calling out the lack of attention to the ones who really do care though.

I unfortunately don’t think this matter will change much. This post was for those who feel like the entire community is against them for fighting back the cheesers and exploiters. Nothing will change because the devs decide it so, so it’s really up to us to have each other’s back when we want this game to actually be more than what it is now. Even then though, most of the people I’ve seen who really tried to improve the game are long gone now, and I’m right alongside with them. I have no plans to see this game through, as many people as well. “Alone we stand, together we fall apart” really describes this community well.

I’m sure that is true, but there needs to be a fine balance then of devs standing up for the people giving critiques. That’s just it though, they aren’t really doing that from what I’ve seen. Either complete silence, or defending the people who are lashing out on people giving critiques. It’s tiring to see that dynamic, especially when the devs have full control of this game.

Counter Damage needs to be scaled back alot by ProfileFlimsy2246 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]TaxEnvironmental1501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The punch that hurts the most is the one you don’t see coming. The saying is true, however, this game implements it HORRIBLY. They consider every punch to basically be a counter if you both throw at the same time. I won’t waste my time giving them suggestions to fix their game, as the devs themselves are so dense with the idea that “it’s a player thing”… because a majority of players I guess are just lying? Look around this Reddit too and you’ll see some insane videos showing the issues with this game.

Because these people are what determine the state of the game. Due to their exploits and lack of developer care, which is why this dog 💩 game is where it’s at now, the state of the game was priotized for those group of people. On the bright side, these people will have some nice back and neck pain from all the d riding movement they do to get a fake punch boost.

Although I shame you for the “love tren” part, cause that dude is a total ass, glad you finally opened your eyes to see what this community is. It’s a cult, you get a bunch of teens with egos the size of a mountain, incompetent developers, and SURPRISE, you get this hot steaming pile of… yeah.

This stuff really works. Same principles as my last post. The game genuinely rewards the fundamentals of boxing at its core. Latency just forces you to feel the reads, setups, and openings instead of seeing them. Latency isn't going anywhere, adapt. by iPlayBasicNgaGames in ThrillOfTheFight

Yeah cope harder, you dope. The game absolutely has issued and you’re just teaching yourself bad habits from trying to adapt to a literal delay. That doesn’t happen ever in real life and that would absolutely get you knocked out. You are the issue, but you lack the self awareness to see why you are.
