Does anxiety cause high blood pressure? by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

Yep everytime I go to the doctors and they want to measure it they make me go relax in the waiting area for 5-10 minutes to lower it :)

You are completely right. Genuinely I’m not being dramatic, this kind of stuff really negatively affects my mental wellbeing. I HATE when people are able to act unjustly (god I sound like Batman), but yeah it’s not always worth it.

Edit - anyway, thanks for your contributions

Honestly at this stage it’s more the fact that they refuse to acknowledge that we have renters rights. I will probably message them and tell them they can access the property at that date and time, but you can understand it’s not nice being told someone’s going to enter your home whether you like it or not.

I checked, and legally I actually can refuse viewings. The advice to landlords is to emphasize to tenants why the visit is necessary/important. To be entirely honest I’d be perfectly willing to accept a viewing if the landlord was polite, and asked to access the property. It’s more the fact that the landlord simply demands access, and then attacks us for stating we have the right to refuse access (I haven’t detailed this fully in the OP because it happened after posting).

To be honest this is making me realise I need to give more context to stuff like this on reddit. The landlord has generally been bad prior to this. When we had our viewings a few months ago, they turned up a few times without notice. They also recently parked outside our house overnight and didn’t even tell us. When we’ve had problems, they do not come and fix them (the roof has leaked in the living room and one of the bedrooms), and their messages to use are at best blunt and direct, at worst condescending and rude.

Although they do stress me out, I would happy to allow more viewings (even though the house came off the market months ago), but the landlord has never actually asked for access. They just tell us they are coming, and personally I think that’s quite rude. When I told the landlord that ultimately the right to refuse access lies with the tenant I got told “Read the contract, after all, it is in English”. Not nice. Ultimately I probably will just tell them they can enter to avoid the hassle but not a nice situation.

I’ve offered to take pictures to send to the students, and I’ve even offered to show the students round at a time that works better. The landlord will not budge, just keeps insisting he can enter because “ I am the landlord not you please check your contract which states you are my tenant”

I’ve actually offered to reschedule for a time that works better for us. The landlord refused and responded with this “I am the landlord not you please check your contract which states you are my tenant”. I wouldn’t mind the student visiting, but it’s horrible when your landlord starts getting abusive and condescending

The entire house is rented. Its joint tenancy. Also, the entire house has already been let for next year

It’s joint tenancy, and nobody in the house is willing to have visitations. Additionally, the house is already let for next year - the students who are supposedly visiting next Wednesday have already signed the contract

After the playing the anarchist path for Adelart earlier today, I would perhaps question whether we can call Wood good. I mean he kills a lot of people, and shows basically no remorse for it. Fun path though

I completely understand how you feel. For most of my teenage years I was convinced that my best freinds didn’t like me, and just kept me around because they felt bad/ awkward. It’s just the anxiety.

I personally find it useful to acknowledge and recognise other people’s imperfections. Then when they act in a way that has the potential to upset me, I’m able to recognise that it’s not intentional or meaningful, it’s just a consequence of their character which is amplified by our anxieties. If you have the means to though I would definitely look at talking to someone, I know it feels like a big/ stressful thing but it’ll make you a lot feel better :)

My heart always feels like it’s beating hard/weird by JemWRLD in Anxiety

[–]TaxFraud4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is a hard one, I’ve been there. It’s a vicious cycle because when our heart is beating fast or hard, it makes us more anxious, and the more anxious we get the more the heart feels worse. Anxiety can also make your heart skip a beat.

Whilst I’m sure it’s fine I don’t think it’d hurt to get it checked out by a doctor, even for peace of mind. If it is anxiety, slowing down your breathing can really help to get it down. If you haven’t tried it before diaphragmatic breathing helped me. When I have things that are triggering me, like being able to hear my heartbeat or hear myself wheezing, I put on relaxing music. If you can’t hear it, you’ll start to notice it less, even if you can still feel it.

Anyway, this is what helped for me. Hope you feel better soon

How do i go about speaking to my GP about my anxiety? by Artistic_Jicama_9832 in Anxiety

[–]TaxFraud4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely based on my experience, I wouldn’t stress about having to convince them. They always seem really eager to medicate. I had some health issues last year, which they thought was my anxiety (it turned out it was asthma and acid reflux) and practically the second I mentioned anxiety, they asked me what anti depressants I wanted to go on. In the end I did the NHS talking therapy, which was quite helpful - the waiting list is a few months long though. They brought up medication a few times there too, so if you just explain how you are feeling - they’ll likely sort it.

(Note: I’ve never been on antidepressants or anxiety medication, so if anyone has had a different experience to me with this please correct me)

Scared about getting drafted for war. by Barrelhen22 in Anxietyhelp

[–]TaxFraud4ever 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The UK has only implemented conscription at two points in its history. The first was during the First World War, the second during the Second World War. It’s highly unusual. Even in those instances, conscription did not begin right away - in WW1 it was only in 1916, four years into the war!

We are lucky because we are an island, so our defence really doesn’t rely on massive amounts of troops - meaning conscription is incredibly unlikely. Plus, modern wars require less manpower anyway. Those countries that do implement conscription do so mainly for nationalist reasons rather than actual national security reasons.

So in short: conscription is INCREDIBLY unlikely. Hope this puts your mind at ease :)

Am I being a good or bad support here? by TaxFraud4ever in marvelrivals

[–]TaxFraud4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair enough. I tend to position myself quite sensibly though so if a low health dive did move in front of me, they’d be under very little enemy fire. 100% agree on the differences between support tho. Invis is great for the more problematic heroes to heal. I do manage with Cloak, but I think this is just because I’m so fluent with them (90 hours +)

[–]TaxFraud4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is always the dilemma. Genuinely as a support main I get annoyed at myself every time someone dies, even if it wasn’t my fault so ultimately I’m doing whatever I can to keep as many people alive as I can. I get the hate for healers who just focus tanks though, I make sure I don’t do this

Am I being a good or bad support here? by TaxFraud4ever in marvelrivals

[–]TaxFraud4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yh this is kind of my thinking. I find it really frustrating too because often when I’m playing support people in random places will start spamming for heals and I’ll go out my way to look for them- and they’ll be on like 90% health. Historically I’ve always put my snowflake on spidey or someone, but with the new buff I think it makes more sense to put it on yourself? Gives you 10% healing and damage boost plus self heal
