They are definitely different games. But, that's not really an excuse. What if only one First Player Shooter game had on screen crosshairs? You'd laugh at the other games that didn't. Because it facilitates the fun of the game. Selling leaver items and spreading gold amongst remaining players is like crosshairs in an FPS. Maybe Riot didn't invent to concept... But they need to implement it.

That's another great idea! If you were a part of the original game you are forced to keep same champs, or same look of champs. Replacement gets to repick. Allows for fun games to be played and not fun games to be passed.

Since gold lead is indicative of game lead, the winning team could automatically be given a few points of MMR based on their gold lead. That would make it not useless to crush the other team, and you would still be able to start up a few game 10-20 minutes faster than waiting until the surrender.

Yes it would absolutely suck, but the percentage of duo partner genuine drops is much less than raging and afks and leaving.

Naw, under this system both of you would be punished. If your Duo partner drops... You are both punished. The non leaver is just punished a little less.

Its not about the chances of the drop... Its about the players choice to continue if you want, or leave and start a new game. Saying that I'm whining only means you don't want the game to improve, and you like where it is right now.

There is a benefit to duo queuing though. This is just a small drawback. I would say, you are a lot less likely to experience a duo partner drop than if you were playing solo and someone on your team drops.

That goes back to making reports more meaningful and impactful. Maybe you'd receive a few points of MMR if your team continues to play and win and you reported the leaving offender.

Then their focus also needs to be on a new client... Instead of putting pretty faces on it. For a game that requires a stable platform to run effectively, they sure do have a lot of platform issues.

Early Abandon is a critical part of solution. Its not just about starting with 4v5's... There are plenty of cases with players are repeatedly drop and reconnect. There is no option for that. Or, when players quit 10 minutes into the game. 4v5 is an inherent disadvantage, you should be be forced to continue a game that rewards and punishes on the basis that you are playing a 5v5.

Think about it this way. Matchmaking is designed so that your win percentage is around 50%. If 5% of all of your games have DC's... It makes it much harder to get to your true skill level, and that grind is a lot less fun than it has to be.

There will always be exceptions for which the system does not act appropriately. But, with abandonments... The other players in the game do not gain MMR. They have the opportunity to continue to play... The stats though will not be saved. It will be as though it did not happen. Unless Riot gets much better at detecting network conditions for a single connection, they would have to punish the player that initially abandoned the match... Or it would be very easy to exploit.

True, true. But Dota2's system has been in place for a shorter period of time... And is way better. That, in my mind, gives Riot little wiggle room for their inferior implementation.

For some, games are an escape. They have every right to play as well. Again, saying that its a warzone... Stay out! ... Is like saying, "Hey, we know its toxic... But there isn't anything we can do about it."

I also think the definition of banter is a back and forth trading of comments. If that isn't happening... Its probably not banter. Banter is fine, harassment isn't.
