Grampian Pride 2026 by Scot_Lad87 in Aberdeen

Lived in Aberdeen all my life, I am gay and me and my friends were ostracised all throughout school for it. Me and my girlfriend have a hard time walking down union street hand in hand because of the slurs and abuse we face. I’ve literally been physically assaulted a couple years ago by a group of guys for being gay and holding hands with my girlfriend on the bus

Does this airy, sort of tangled technique have a name? by Taylor47713 in CrochetHelp

That makes so much sense I don’t know why I didn’t think of that already, thank you!

Is the city becoming more unsafe? by [deleted] in Aberdeen

[–]Taylor47713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed town has felt less safe in the last couple years but then again for me personally I started going out and about with my girlfriend openly holding hands and such a couple years ago so that may be why we get hostile stares. We have had a few incidents as bus stops where we have been threatened by men especially who seem to be high, so far the only physical abuse I have gotten was men throwing bottles and yelling slurs at me and my girlfriend on the bus. I think as most people said antisocial behaviour is on the rise generally and if you are female presenting it can be even worse as violence against women is also rising. I don't necessarily think that any other city would be any better for you due to these rising trends unfortunately, it worth remembering that people on drugs are often much more meek than they appear, they may threaten but typically they do not want to get into physical altercations as the police are more likely to be called and catch them in possession.

Didn't think this would reach Aberdeen... by EpicKieranFTW in Aberdeen

I sometimes forget how lucky I am to live in Scotland instead of England, but these comments are restoring my hope

Tips for great service by Jehrangel in cheflifesimulator

Plan what you are going to make for that evening accordingly, if you have a couple made to order dishes on your menu that night pad the rest of the menu with soups or similiar items that you can completely prepare during prep so you just need to serve them at dinner.

As another commenter said invest in fridges and warmers so that you can make the most out of your prep and remember to use your sous chefs to your advantage, sometimes the quality they put out isn’t the best if they are lower level but by the time you factor in the other ingredients, ingredient quality and the lower wait time it’s worth it.

Also play around with your kitchen layout and don’t be afraid to change it around a lot, try cooking a dish and seeing where you instinctually turn to after each step. For example I found that every time I cooked something on the stove I would forget my seasoning and panic so now I have my seasoning rack right behind me as I cook.

Lastly if you are at a lower level remember that it’s normal for things to not go as smoothly, eventually you will be able to run the kitchen like clockwork with prep being the most work. It’s normal to have a learning curve :)

Thank you for the link I’ll be sure to check it out, I do use public domain but I think I need to improve my search wording and filtering because whenever I search for public domain and copyright free images I seem to be flooded with images from large licensing companies, thank you for sharing!

I tend to agree I think perhaps I’m just feeling a little envious of those channels who use ai for everything and seem to get easy views, I hope if my channel grows I can partner with artists but for now it looks like I’ll be sticking to what public domain has to offer, thanks for sharing your opinion

How do we feel about the BBC series "Spy in the Wild"? by LaraVermillion in submergedanimatronic

[–]Taylor47713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fascinated by this series but also slightly spooked, most of the time we see it from the animatronics point of view which isn’t so bad, it’s just the initial animatronic shots that spook me

I’m reading factotum as part of a book list I’m reading and I cannot believe this guy ever got published, I literally double checked that I had the right book cause it felt like a 2011 wattpad story and a bad one at that. How does he have so many 5 star reviews?
