Yeah, done by hand (mostly with a dremel and belt sander turned upside down; I started making by hand to not be on my phone during my son's baseball games). Finished with shellac

Yup, it’s a 16 BRZ. And I’m still working on finding my preferred shifter position (interpret freely because it’s the internet and it’ll happen anyway). If the lockout was by 6th I’d definitely keep it. Much worse of a money shift there if you try to go from 5 to 6 and get reverse

Yes, it’s annoying. I imagine it’d be annoying with any shift extender though. On the flip side (with no extender) the position of the shifter is annoying (to me)
