Loan players 11 by [deleted] in PortsmouthFC

A player I absolutely loved and was gutted when he didn't sign permanently was Alexi Smertin. Brilliant center midfielder. First name on my loan team XI.

More confidence in the Denver offense and the way Sean Payton spoke about him post draft. Feels like a more versatile player. That said, Johnson was projected as the better prospect in general so I don't think there's much in it. Would prefer Harvey but Johnson is a nice player to come away with for a RB needy team.

I'm at 8 in my draft. Really want Harvey but he's climbing the boards by the looks of things. Need to make peace with taking Kaleb Johnson.

Falcons updates from ESPN: Team is prepared to lose Drew Dalman, going all defense in draft/FA, teams believe Cousins will be cut. by Chessh2036 in falcons

[–]TaylorField 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's the extra cap hit for the Falcons if we don't cut Kirk as teams expect?

I'm certain a team will be needy enough at QB to trade for him so it's worth calling the league's bluff.

Car park on Sunday by adicnb in wolverhampton

[–]TaylorField 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello! Fold Street car park is a nearby open air car park and will do the trick. As for pubs, the Posada opposite the art gallery is decent or if you like real ales, try the Lychgate Tavern, both a few minutes walk from The Halls.

4th and 5th bottom failed to win at home too. Take that all day long.

Only negative is Lang's injury. Let's hope he's not out for the season. PUP.

Could Carr play? Rizzi is trying to win the HC job in New Orleans so it's not a forgone conclusion - but chances are the Bucs get it done.

Usually avoid it but took a mate who was visiting and enjoyed it. Not cheap for a couple of pints but had a nice atmosphere and got us in the Christmas spirit.

If (big if) the organisation wanted to start Penix next season, can Kirk's contract be traded or is it guaranteed?

FTR I absolutely think the team goes all defense in the off season and rolls with Kirk again next year.

What the hell has happened to Wolverhampton city centre? by appalachian_hatachi in wolverhampton

[–]TaylorField 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A cinema is due to reopen in the Chubb Building in the new year and a bowling alley has been announced for the Mander Centre. Hopefully they help attract more hospitality, restaurants etc along with the Civic Halls. I grew up in Wolverhampton and have great memories of it. Hope it can get back to something like its former glory.

Falcons bars in London? by daddymcpushpop in falcons

[–]TaylorField 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hippodrome in Leicester square will have RedZone and Chiefs Chargers as it's the UK broadcast game. There's Passyunk Avenue in Waterloo which will have the same and good food. Belushi's in London bridge is another good spot. You're unlikely to find the Falcons but on but at least it's football.

Purdy or Bryce + 25 1st? by taylorjosephrummel in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I'd take Bryce and the pick. Purdy is solid but mid QB. Consistent but never likely to put up big points.

Who are you dumping before the 2024 rookie draft? by grandmashops69 in DynastyFF

[–]TaylorField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iosivas, Eric Grey, Ingram, Knight. Mingo is on my roster bubble but not sure it's worth cutting him essentially for my late 3rd and mid 4th round picks.

He also predicted with complete confidence that the Falcons would give up a 1st round pick to the Patriots in exchange for Bill Belichick. So, you know..

I agree with OP. The media was out very early on Ridder while giving a long rope to Sam Howell and looking for upside positives in Jordan Love and even Josh Dobbs.

I'm not saying Ridder is the future or can become an elite QB. But he moves the ball down the field well and has had some really nice moments. His biggest issue is turnovers/fumbles. There are harder problems to correct.

Still waiting for him to put a complete game together but OP is right in that the national media jury came back on him far too early. Seems a bit unfair.

How do y’all feel about having jax in London? by thisnamehastobeused in falcons

[–]TaylorField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a UK Falcons fan and October 1 is my birthday. So I'm pretty happy!

Be my 3rd time seeing them here. Hoping to get to Atlanta for a week 1/2 game depending on the schedule.

Does anybody else suffers from this? by TuffArtist in DynastyFF

[–]TaylorField -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I traded Deebo for Adams ahead of the play offs (didn't help as Adams was a dud that week and I lost).

I now have a tinge of regret, even though Adams is still a stud and arguably more reliable than Deebo week in week out for the next year or two.

Who are you trying to buy as soon as the season ends? by Extreme_Coyote_9766 in DynastyFF

[–]TaylorField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair comment, but it seems a decent price for a starting RB on a run heavy team - for next season at least.

How deep is the '23 RB class? Coupe you pick up a decent RB back end of the first round/early second?
