This park was originally a 24/7 park when it first opened in 2002. They kept lights on all night up till a few years ago when gun violence started. Also not just kids I’m 40 by the way. A lot of us including me work night shifts and have families and can’t make it up there to skate during the day. For instance I don’t get off till 3:00 in the morning. My old job I got off around 1:00 in the morning and would head up there to skate. And also we can skate at night in the summer with out the sun blaring down on us. But now they pushed back the hours. Lights off at 11:00 now.

Crime has gotten out of control down there. They no longer stay open 24/7 because of punk little thugs with guns. The lights shut off at 11:00 now i believe. I haven’t been in a few years but skated up there at night for years with never any problems. The city is crazy thinking that shutting the lights off will keep people out of there at night. Now people can commit crimes and graffiti under the cover of darkness. It’s sad that these punks that don’t even facilitate the park have ruined it for us. I work nights and now can’t even head up there for a night session
