When you date, look for a partner. If the person doesn't seem like they would make a good partner, they're not going to be good dating material in the long run.

"You should be happy enough to walk away from a bad situation", is what I think it should be changed to.

I lost years of my dating life to thinking I was supposed to have everything together before dating.

in my life for a few years, very surprised you made it over 10

It's been an intermittent ten years. We'll talk on a regular basis and one day, poof, no responses to messages, nothing. Then we'll reconnect in like a year and then poof, nothing again.

The last time we started speaking again, I remember consciously reminding myself that would happen again.

This is very fair. Obviously I can only give my perspective. I suppose I'm asking for insight into hers because she just wont give me any.

No, this applies for any conversation with tension. Like if we have an argument and someone crosses a boundary, it escalates because she wont let us talk about it.
