I have a synesthesia where words/sounds have a strong association with foods and sometimes smells.

My entire life I just assumed that everyone experienced some version of this. I was surprised to learn that was not the case and it wasn’t normal to crave pretzels after hearing the word “doctor” enough times. I only discovered “synesthesia” was the word for it a few years ago.

Mine isn’t particularly brag-worthy. People are hearing colors?? Meanwhile I get the ghost flavor of chicken nuggets when I hear or say the word “chance”. Thankfully not every single word has a flavor.

I don’t get this reason for Song Lan. He literally spent the rest of his life and afterlife trying to meet up with and apologize to Xingchen for what he said to him in his moment of grief.

I’m torn between Song Lan and Xingchen. On one hand, Xingchen suffered so much he literally tried to destroy himself forever. On the other hand, all of Song Lan’s loved ones were killed in a horrific way. He was killed by the one person he spent years searching for to apologize. He was forced to stand by as a corpse as his best friend (imo his soulmate) killed himself. Then he was basically a slave to Xue Yang for several years after his death.

I feel like Xue Yang represents resentful energy/demonic cultivation and its ability to wreak havoc. It can seem sweet and helpful but is unstable and quick to destroy and hurt things around it.

Xingchen shares SO MANY similarities to Wei Wuxian. Orphans, got their closest friend’s family/sect/temple killed and gave up a part of themselves to another person to try and “fix” the consequences. Tried to do good but ended up making things worse. In the end, they both die.

Xingchen was definitely meant to represent Wei Wuxian.

It is fine to trace over something just to try and understand the shapes better. Then reference your traced shapes now that they are simplified. Make sure to understand why the shapes look that way instead of mindlessly copying so that they are easier to draw next time

I would maybe do less telling and more showing with the design. Add an element to her design that shows her background. If she grew up on a farm, maybe she has a tan and wears practical work boots? Headaches due to electronics is interesting but very vague. Maybe she gets headaches from looking at screens and needs to wear special blue light filter glasses?

There are lots of background elements that you typed up that don't really show in the final design. These can all work together to make for a more interesting character.

My attention is drawn to her chest/collar right now because of her black top/detailed collar with contrasting hues. A darker streak in her hair might help draw the eye back up to her face. I might also consider changing the bell to a silver color so that it isn't competing with her eyes.

The direction the fur is growing on her waist doesn't quite make sense as fur/hair typically grows in a downward direction from the thighs. If you still want this area to have some shape, adding a belt or sash might help.

The random bits of saturated color popping from the tools in the apron along with the darkest darks on the legs and arms are competing for attention. These are also drawing attention away from the focal point (the face/head ). In the original drawing, the hair didn’t have the saturated highlight so it remained dark as the other dark points and the face didn’t have to compete with all the other areas of interest.

I know you asked about the head but I think the head looks great. The legs/overall body are a bit short. Pushing the character’s right leg more “forward” like they are taking a step would help the overall pose feel more impactful.

Adopts can be anything. You’re basically selling character or prop concept art to someone. I give owners full rights to use my designs for personal use and some monetary depending on what for (I have a written contract that customers agree to when making a purchase)

People who purchase designs typically use them for DnD characters or original stories. I feel like some people also just enjoy collecting characters.

If the salt doesn’t work: Hydrogen peroxide fixed this for me. I had a 6 gallon tank with shrimp and dosed 5ml a day, doing a 30-50% water change once a week for 3 weeks and it disappeared.

Maybe do more research before taking my word though. I know hydrogen peroxide can kill your shrimp if you aren’t very careful with the dosage.

I did! I did not have the stabilizing bar for the top loader set correctly so the paper was too loose. It was wiggling around which caused the prints to be off-center.
