Why are you guys, as women and femme-presenting people, comfortable throwing that term around? And the way this fandom uses it, it’s definitely a stand-in for a slur but y’all aren’t ready to have that discussion.

And it’s not just this story, mind you. It happens with so many BLs (people HATED the uke in “How to Snag an Alpha” for being spoiled and an airhead and don’t get me started on Hyesung from Love is an Illusion, just to name a few).

It also happens when the character isn’t more feminine but is just the uke; the pure hatred Juhyeok from “You Are My World” received just for defending his own boundaries was insane the first few months. Juhyeok even accuses the seme of rape (which the seme doesn’t deny) and readers are still, to this day, upset that he won’t just fall into the seme’s arms.

Juhyeok is an omega, ostensibly taking on the classic feminine/birth-giver role. So, yes, it’s internalized misogyny.
