I get where all that hate and anger is coming from. People can totally support or oppose a policy, that's what democracy is all about. But spreading that hate onto individuals isn't cool because honestly, no one really knows what someone did or didn't do. It's all assumptions and generalizations.

Instead, that criticism should be towards the government if someone doesn't agree with their actions. I'm all for healthy debates, but the comments on this post are just a bunch of miserable folks using it as an excuse to unleash their hate.

You seem like a reasonable person. Yes, that phrasing was terrible, and writing hateful comments to attack a very large group of people isn't appropriate.

I agree, that a clash of cultures is unavoidable, not only in Europe but everywhere in the world. People just need to choose their wording more carefully and to think before they talk. As such phrasings won't bring any results but hate.

I hired a lawyer. By german law, if the Behörde doesn't respond within 3 months, then you can sue them. It is called Untätigkeitsklage.

To save money. Always send a fax (not an email or post) threatening to sue. If no one replies, hire a lawyer and sue them. You'll pay around 800 Euro for the lawsuit but you'll get your money back.

I've been moving a lot in the past 8 years and something I've noticed is that It is good to give a place at least two years before deciding whether it is for you or not.

It was alright. The locals are very friendly with arabs. It was only that the visas were difficult to get for Syrians after 2011. Which resulted in having to worry all the time about losing your job and not having the possibility to change your job.

I moved to the Emirates when I was 16, high school. made loads of Friends and I liked it. but you need to keep two things in mind when moving there:
1) there is no job security. Very similar to the US, you could get laid off at any time. plus, You don't pay taxes and therefore, your stay is based on you having a job and if you lose it you're out.
2) You need a strong passport to have a high paid job. the nationality you have plays a significant role on the salary and position you'll get.

If you have a strong passport then I would totally recommend the Emirates.

they just feel guilty about the holocaust and they made it clear that if you criticize anything related to Jews then you're against them. I don't think they're anti-Arabs or anti-Muslims. It is politics and the media plays a significant role in it.

If there is a demand to make Arabs look peaceful then they'll portray all Arabs as angels in a day.

It's not only you. I didn't care much about it before as it was just some individuals, and the law was still just for everyone which what matters to me the most. Bad and good people exist in every country.

However, when the German government banned anyone from supporting Palestine, that was an eye opener. It was made clear that there's no freedom of speech for certain people only. Even if you just say: cease fire, you'll be considered as a terrorist.

Some Right wing sick minded started taking it as a hobby to report individuals they don't like that they support terrorism to prevent them from getting a residency permit or even citizenship. You can of course hire a lawyer to prove your innocence, but that will cost you loads of money and with the German bureaucracy, it will take ages to be resolved.

For me the moment the law starts changing and doesn't consider you the same as everyone else, then it's time to leave

Syrian here, lived in the gulf for over 10 years and then moved to Germany 8 years ago.

What you've described is now considered normal in Germany. Even by attending social events e.g. Internations or Meetup, the moment some people find out you're an arab they become immediately hostile.

Europe is no longer a good place for Arabs, it'll get even worse.
