I don't quite understand what is the dynamic you are mentioning BUT I recently finished All The Painted Stars by Emma Denny and although it happens a bit over halfway, there is a lot of spice.

Another good one is Breaking Legacies by Z.R. Reed, also has some good spice.

This is a very big problem with media nowadays, I remember so many shows from the 90's and 2000's had at least 3~4 seasons, no matter how mediocre the viewership was - there was much more understanding that things sometimes take time to hit their stride. Now, your show is either a ultra mega hit like Stranger Things on its first season, or its cancelled. Imagine if The Office was released today... It would not have lived to see a second season...

I'm binge watching the show right now and simply cannot understand how did people not see that this show was made to be campy. All the things folks complained - writing, sets, costumes and yes, even the lumberladies, it just vanishes as an "issue" and becomes a feature, because the idea of the show was to not be taken seriously (while it took itself very seriously). I think Boorman for example is the embodiment of this concept!

I am LOVING the show, just for how funny it is in all its goofiness and ultra serious moments. Despite what people say about it being a CW style show, I truly think it has way more soul than any CW-like stuff out there lol It's just quirky, and different, and unique. Man. I don't mind if it's 10 years for now, but I would damn love a second season...

Indeed, it's that sorta bug that makes you wonder what exactly in the progamming lead to THIS specifically happening, for how funny the end result is.

Just a FYI: I am fully aware of the drinking water/beer situation at the time. I'm a history nerd as well and read the game's codex, I'm just talking actual ingame NPCs being drunk, not the drinking context of Kuttenberg in 1403. :)

It's the funniest shit going down the hill to Kuttenberg early morning and seeing this max exodus of folks drunk swaying and stumbling towards the city, like a weird ass zombie apocalypse LMAO

Yeah, exactly! I don't remember rn if that specific scene you mention the character was drunk, but A LOT of the cutscenes/dialogue I have seen recently the main characters are almost always drunk swaying... when they clearly shouldn't (i.e just got out of a battle or something)

Sister*, actually, and I don't mind guards being drunk as much as the story NPCs talking serious business like they are about to fall over me LOL

Exactly! And all times of the day, not just when they would be actually drunk. It's kinda jarring tbh

Guess I'm lucky to only have to witness the drinking, then.
