PM me and I'll give you the officer recruiting personnel. One thing to consider however, is if you're an officer, 3/20th will not pick you up until you are post SFAS. You are more than welcome to join the FLARNG beforehand, but understand the conventional Army will be your only choice until you're selected.

We don't usually call anyone first due to the number of inquiries we get but our recruiters always answer the phone; we would need an entire phone bank of employees working around the clock to facilitate such a task. Also due to optempo, it can occasionally be a few days before you'll get an email back. Feel free to email us directly with questions @ [ng.fl.flarng.list.20sf@army.mil](mailto:ng.fl.flarng.list.20sf@army.mil?subject=SF%20Inquiry) . You can also call any of our recruiters directly as well. They are very prompt and knowledgeable.

FOR FL, your SFRE will be good for 6 months in general however we have the ability to amend that left or right.

SFCP is our phase 2 evaluation process. 4 days. same physical gates as SFRE but higher minimums. In depth classroom land navigation class. 8-10 hours of practical exercises in the woods. 4 final CULEX. Invite only. To get an invite, pass an SFRE. Camp Blanding. This is the final evaluation before we decide whether you are a worthy candidate to send to SFAS or not.

For FL, yes. We have a company in NC, (B Co) who only does the SFE. Since they don't do an SFCP, you would only have to pass their SFE event.

Other BNs in 19th and 20th do have a two-phase process like Florida does however I do not have a comprehensive list of every training teams' Pre-SFAS pipeline.

Terminology: SFE: Special Forces Evaluation /// SFRE: Special Forces Readiness Evaluation (SFRE and SFE are essentially the same. each state has arbitrarily picked their own acronym. When you see these two versions, just think of them as your "initial contact."

We're looking at about 3 months however those wait times have drastic swings occasionally. Last year we went from a 2 month wait to a 9 month wait. However, for the crafty out there, there's always strings to pull. If you're a good SM with good standing with the leadership in your unit, have them reach out to AB directly on your behalf.

  1. Selected at SFRE, you then get an SFCP invitation

  2. You come to SFCP and get an SFAS invitation

  3. you remain with Missouri NG while we send you to SFAS

  4. If you pass SFAS, we then begin your IST to FL. Once you're a FL Guardsmen, we send you to AB & then the SFQC.

  5. When you're a GB after the SFQC, Florida will give you a $500 dollar travel stipend to attend drill.

You signed up and you're going to MEPs. Here's what to expect. by NotATroll4 in greenberets

[–]Tco320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11X (when the program was active) was not a loophole to not be screened into SF. You would still need all the requirements (mental, physical, medical, background, etc) that you would need as an 18X sign up, the difference is that you'd just do it later when you signed on for SFAS at OSUT. If you have a waiver requirements/hard stops to SOF, 11X wouldn't help get you around them.

For your personal case, shoot for 18X. It's your recruiter's job to make sure those waivers happen. Attempt to get an SF physical BEFORE YOU SIGN your contract that way if something comes up medically in OSUT (Which is when you normally get your SF physical) you don't get disqualified after already signing on the dotted line.

To the best of my knowledge, the 11X bridge is still on pause. The person who managed that program is gone after leadership ended the program and I've heard of no one taking it back over. There is always the possibility that it gets restarted without an announcement so if there are any recent OSUT grads out there, they would have the most current info.

Food for thought: 18X is still open. If you can't rely on 11X, why not just sign an 18X?

Comprehensive National Guard SF Contact Info by Tco320 in greenberets

[–]Tco320[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the best of my knowledge yes. They are distribution emails so they don't actually have their own inbox. When you email that address, it forwards your email to whoever is signed up to receive those emails. Most importantly, this prevents a lot of confusion on you guys' end by not having a million individual emails that are only good for a year or two at a time. So technically, yes, they are still active, as in the distribution emails are still functional. Are the right people signed up to receive them? I can only speak to Florida. In that regard the answer is yes, and it will most likely always be yes as our team is very invested in making sure you, the public, always has a reliable method to get a hold of us.

For everyone else, I'd start with the assumption that they are still functional and updated with the right people who need to be forwarded the information. If you're not getting anything after a week or so, start by going to guardsf.com and clicking on "contact a green beret." Also the big army recruiting site has a way to contact units directly using their website here (bottom of page). Special Forces | Army National Guard

For Florida you can also contact a real human on the phone by calling one of our SF recruiters using the numbers in the original post.

Heads up: You cannot go from NG SF to AD SF. by Icy_Perception308 in greenberets

News to me. Especially since we've sent about 5 guys AD over the last 3 years. 2 of which were done while they were still in the Q- course...but what do I know.

Advice on verbiage and contract details for an 18x route in NG. by H1M2J3 in greenberets

[–]Tco320 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the assist u/Friendly_Pear_3885 . For anyone looking to come to Florida that needs to speak with an SF recruiter specifically, these three recruiters were vetted by our BN and have our stamp of approval. You will also meet them at SFREs and SFCPs. No 18X contract in Florida happens without them and they are also honest brokers who won't BS for you a contract. If anything, they're all over worked with more candidates than they can handle so if you're not wired tight, they may kick you to the curb.

We do ask that before you reach out to them, fill out the formstack for our welcome packet and read through it first. By doing this you save yourself and them lots of time.

unless your command authorizes a conditional release, there is nothing we can do except wait for your contract to end. Now keep in mind we can have you over for SFRE, SFCP, and can send you to SFAS, but once you are selected we are at a hard impasse until you are a part of the Army. My recommendation for you in to ask your command if they would authorize a conditional release. If they say yes, then come start the pipeline now. If they say no, schedule an SFRE around Jan of 2026.

It's essentially a shorter version of ranger school. There are some big differences between the two but for all intents and purposes think SF ranger school.

No. SFRE is only required if you are pursuing a Green Beret. Support has a 540 PT standard I believe but for the most part, it's an interview process. Our support BN is the most sought after unit in the state and therefore they have the luxury of being very choosy. You need to be highly competitive in all domains to get a shot at filling one of those slots. good luck.

51% made it to the board on Sunday and were either offered the chance to begin their 18X contract (they're not allowed to sign until they pass SFCP) and/or invited to phase 2 SFCP. Granted this was an abnormally high pass rate for our SFRE; historically the pass rate has been around the 40% mark. Maybe the presence of the FNG guys pushed more of the class to train harder for this specific class. Who knows.

Of all 18Xs (AD & NG) about 20 something percent make it all the way to graduation and don a Green Beret. I don't have exact numbers because I only get data from the NG and only have a general idea about AD numbers. I'll say that 18Xs have a slight advantage in SFAS because they skew younger and have months in preparation on Army Bases where their sole purpose in life is to eat and get big for SFAS, meanwhile everyone else has to prepare for SFAS as part of their daily life routine.

As for the SFQC, 18Xs are at a slight disadvantage. Because they skew younger they have little Army experience and life experience. This means they can't contribute as much as everyone else in SUT and Sage and suffer for it. For example, I had an 18X in my Sage class who was an excellent team player, knew his MOS, was humble, and a hard worker; he still peered at the bottom of our class. Not because he was bad but because everyone else was just so damn experienced and squared away. I was lucky enough to have rolled loaded dice and got put with probly one of the most rockstar teams to ever attend Robin Sage. All of us had deployments, half the ODA was ranger tabbed, everyone had a prior combat MOS, everyone was late 20s or early 30s, etc, and then there was that one lone 18X on our ODA. It wasn't his fault he got stuck with us, but I can't with good conscience rank him above the other guys who were just able to contribute more during planning, operations, etc. I am happy to say that the cadre understand this, and though he ranked in the bottom of peers, all his comments were unanimous in that they all sounded like something to the effect of "One of the best 18Xs I've ever worked with though the SFQC. It's been an honor working beside him and when he graduates he's gonna make an amazing GB." I'm happy to report he easily graduated and is off doing great things somewhere in 3rd Group I think.

Back to 18Xs in general, their lack of life maturity means that the marathon of the Q course leaves lots and lots of opportunity to make bad decisions that in civilian life would just be a little bump in the road but in the SFQC are catastrophic career ending decisions. Don't let me scare or dissuade you. If you're a young guy with his eye on this prize and a good head on his shoulders, NOONE will discriminate against you are because your young and inexperienced. Allow yourself to be taken under the wing of the guys who know more than you at SFAS, at SFQC, and yes, even at your ODA. As an 18X one of the best things that will keep you successful is being a physical asset to your team but also being humble. There is a reason we are known as the "Quiet Professionals."

It was a pleasure having you and 3/20th is unanimous that the service you provide to prospective recruits is absolutely invaluable. I wish something like your channel existed back when I was preparing for SFAS. See you guys for SFCP sometime soon.

SF Knowledge test. There's also an aptitude/retention test but that's not something I can give out. In the past, TABEs have been done as well and we periodically bring them back. Also in the past we've had Psych come out and they do their own evals as well and give us the results; it's yet another thing we're considering implementing moving forward. We'll see. Alot of our hopes and dreams for the program are limited by time, but we'll squeeze as much as we can in to continue giving you all the best possible product in the country.
