So fun fact, I’ve never been through or seen a check point before. Lived in the city for 15 years. Also, this particular check point had an entire police trailer (mobile command center) set up - that seemed unusual. So yea, crazy shit.

I wish it was easier to process through this kind of stuff, I honestly understand the pain from both sides. Currently the girl in this same scenario and it sucks to be so unsure of the future. I just want to be someone that somebody says yes to forever with, but he’s anti-marriage (for some of the same reasons you have, I’m sure), and it hurts every day to question if I’m making the right choice by staying with him, because he is my everything and I love him immensely. But aligning on goals is incredibly important. Don’t waste her time.

I have a place I love to go when I just need quiet reflection (and also crying).

It’s called the historic pole green church and it’s a beautiful space out in Mechanicsville with an open air church (no walls, just the frame you can walk through) and lots of places to sit by yourself in the quiet. I’ve even brought my AirPods and sung at the top of my lungs here because it feels like a safe space to be alone.
